And Robin lets him walk in a run to tie the ballgame, THEN goes to get him. What an incompetent turd. Both of them, manager and pitcher. Fuck this team.

Nate Jones has never, EVER, been good in high-leverage situations. At his best, he is league average when the game situation becomes critical. As soon as he started to get himself in trouble out there (why was he out there to begin with?!), it should have been stall-tactic after stall-tactic until someone else in the 'pen was ready.

This shit is as much on the idiot manager as it is previously-mediocre-at-best bullpen guys all being mediocre-at-best right in a row.

Robin should have thrown more strikes.

Because he took out a cruising starter who hadn't been in a lot of high-stress situations recently for a guy that has rarely been good as games get tighter, and then let him piss away a lead across, what, four, maybe five batters before going to get him?

This series has been a 100-level course in bad bullpen management.

1-2-3 inning for Wade Davis and KC's bullpen protects a 1 run lead. Ned Yost is a genius. Fuckin idiots.

Unlike Nate Jones, Wade Davis has, over his career, demonstrated his ability to thrive in high-leverage situations.

Wade Davis is part of a Royals like bullpen. Nate Jones is not.

No, Elmhurst Steve did not write that. I believe that despite Moustakas and Gordon being out, KC wins the series.

Yep, even without Moustakas and Gordon, the Royals sweep and hand the Sox their 6th straight series loss. They are 4-14 over the last 18 and now a game out and in 3rd place. Nate joins in on the bullpen implosion in the series today.

Another great day in Chicago Baseball.... Cubs win/ Sox lose. :D

The Sock aren't as bad as they're playing right now. Just gotta fight through a rough patch.

I'm fairly certain this is who the White Sox really are. This is what they were last year. The first month was an anomaly.

Through March and April, their batting BABIP was a paltry .275, pitching .284, and their HR/FB ratio was 10.3% while hitting, and 10.1% while pitching, all well below what becomes league-average over time. They weren't getting lucky against defenses, and their fly balls weren't magically turning into home runs at alarming rates.

Similarly, in high- and medium-leverage situations all year, their pitching has had a BABIP of .270 and a wOBA of .284 and .292, respectively. For comparison, the league has a BABIP of .291 and wOBA of .311 in high-leverage situations, and .300/.321 in medium-leverage.

Unless I'm missing something big, any luck that brought them their hot start exists outside of current baseball metrics, even the ones that attempt to value random-ish chance.
