"Gangs of New York"-Waste of time and a terrible ending. The set design and costumes were the only decent thing about him. Just fight already!

U2 did a pretty good song for that movie, so it's got that going for it...ehh...nevermind...

Phat Girlz. Not only because it looked like it was filmed on a JVC Camcorder, but because it seemed like the point of the movie was to tell fat women to be proud of their fatness and not doing anything about it and hate on skinnier women.

the worst "good" movie i've seen was 'crash'. man, that was god-awful. talk about racism 101

the only movie i really loved that dealt with racism was 'american history x'...

crash was kind over the top, but i liked some of it.

American Psycho is the worst movie I have ever seen, barre none. I understand the... whatever the fuck the director was trying to convey with Bale's character only imagining the murders. However everything about this movie... the casting, cinematography, and even the soundtrack... is completely terrible.

you mean that everything was meant to be over the top to drive home that it was a satire of the 80's? that's not only what the director wanted to convey that's also what the book was about.

If it was true to the book, then it was a horrible book and I owe the movie an apology.

I hate that movie mostly because it had such potential.

I did love the opening scene including the opening song. After that...much suck.

Great call on this one. It got all this acclaim and when I saw it was a huge letdown. Yes the ending did suck ass but most people I talk to about it seemed to love it. Some others I hated were Finding Neverland (stuck watching on a plane) and the epic Angel Eyes with J Lo (also a plane).

Big Momma's House = Not funny. Relies on slapstick preschool humor. I love Martin but I don't like it when guys dress as women for easy laughs.

Baby Boy = Another fucking hood movie. These hood movies do more harm to the perception of the black community than you would imagine. I hate how black movies only depict black people in a certain light. The fucked up thing is these black filmmakers are smarter and have more creativity but they don't make challenging movies because they're afraid blacks won't spend money to see them. I grew up in the hood. I've seen the hood. The hood was the same in the 70s, 80s, 90s, and '00s...fucked up. C'mon Singleton. I guess Boyz 'N The Hood wasn't enough huh? He just had to make another exploitive "nigga" movie.

School Daze = I can't relate to the point Spike was trying to get across. I understand a lot of black people are color struck but I'm not light-skinned or dark-skinned so I never got caught up in that shit. Plus I didn't go to a historically black college (there's a whole other can of worms) so I just thought the movie was boring.

John Q = Completely unrealistic. You mean to tell me in real life a black dude would've been able to raise that much hell in a hospital? No way. The police would've pumped his ass full of more holes than Swiss cheese. And the kid? Sorry to say, but the kid would've died without a transplant. John Q was a fairy tale.

If I could do it all over I would have went off to college because I never got the experience. At the time I was looking at Lemoyne-Owen in TN which is a HBCU.

Have you seen "Bamboozled"?

Singleton seriously disappoints me. He's proven he couldn't mature beyond "Boyz N the Hood". I didn't hate, but I was very disappointed and frustrated with "Higher Learning" because it was just stereotyping whites the way blacks are steretyped by whites.

I bring up "Bamboozled" because it is a dig at the industry...and I think the industry is owned and operated by whites...unfortunately, I think that is why you see these bad "black movies" coming out all the time...that's all the studios will shell money out for. What I get pissed off about is when people say they're going to pay money to see these movies...then you're just feeding the beast.

I've never seen Bamboozled but you bring up some great points Zack.

Bamboozled is quality.

It was tough to see Tommy Davidson in a serious role.

The "upwardly mobile" character played by Damon Wayans actually thought he was giving the community a voice/exposure/legit jobs in the entertainment biz.

It's a real black movie because Michael Rapaport is in it.

Also look for Paul Mooney, whos recent Shotime special from the Laugh Factory should be required viewing by all of America. Title: Jesus Is Black, So Was Cleopatra, Know Your History.

Don't forget Mos Def, MC Serch, and a cast of thousands.
