Wow they manage to miss Kershaw. That is always a plus.

Going to the game Monday. Sitting in section 500 something. If anyone else is going, don't stop by because I'm not buying you a beer.

Missing Kershaw is nice and having Hammel and Arrieta start in the first 2, should give the Cubs a good chance to get off to a nice start. I hope Jake looks more like Jake than he has in a couple of his more recent starts, even though he was still good enough to win them just the same.

I think Arrieta is going to have a rough few weeks. He's having issues with his control. Not just waking people but his control in the zone. My hope is, Joe will limit him as much as possible over the next couple months to let him rest. He's thrown a bunch of tough innings the last year+ and I'd like to see him limited.

I agree he is having zone issues and I think he is relying a bit much on being Jake. I limit him as much as possible and have him carry the load at push time when it matters.

Watched the Dodgers last night. Some questionable bullpen moves were made. Mets gave it back to them though.

Maddon needs to put Zobrist and Heyward on opposite sides of the field. Yeesh.

Fuck you, Ralph. Why don't you just wait for Hawk to give us the injury report like everyone else.

Good seats, supposed to be great weather and Arrieta pitching.....the trifecta! Plus at a great price! Enjoy.

I am expecting a better performance from Arrieta today than we have seen (despite the fact he won the games) in his last few. He has not gone deep in games for a while, as his pitch count rose too high early in games. So he needs to be more efficient today, but I noticed the Dodgers were VERY aggressive at bat yesterday, so if that is normal for them, it should help Jake. 6 wins in a row, looking to run the streak to 7, behind a guy who has helped the team win in his last 22 straight regular season starts. I like their chances.

I was there yesterday and had the opportunity to help hold the giant USA flag on the field pregame.... I was holding the blue corner near the LF bleaches ... the sound of the crowd was even louder on the field then it is in my seats (220/3) but even more noticeable were the individual voices from the bleachers.... any player who says he did't hear anything from the bums is lying you could hear them even over the roar...the other note was walking out through the RF gate and looking up at the SCHAWboard ...man that sucker is awfully tall when you are right underneath it as opposed to seeing it from your seat.

I will be at my 25th -30th home games this season during the rest of the homestand

I was there yesterday...got in a little late, saw the bottom of the first. It took me until the 4th inning I think to realize the score wasn't 1-0 Cubs. I took for granted that Jones sent Russell home on Ross's hit in the second. What the fuck was he thinking...get the damn run in! Especially with the pitcher coming up to bat with one out.

Gary Jones is approximately 20% successful on "sends."

While that was a risky send that made sense...Russell would have been out. He froze until the ball got by. He was not going to score.
