Why is driving a truck a bad thing? Having a CDL can be a lucrative way to make a living. How do you think LOU'S gets thier overrated product to Arizona?

So much stupidity in so few words, I guess that is impressive in some way.

1. Driving a truck is an honest living, nothing wrong with it, but lets not confuse it with having other skills that might use a little more brain power.
2. Owning the trucking company is what would be considered "lucrative" in some circles, obviousely not yours.
3. Lou's has an actual kitchen in Arizona, just saying, they arent shipping frozen pizzas and when they did if you think it was by truck, then your stupidty factor is even higher than we all thought.

I am just surprised that with all the alleged intelligence between guys like Baby Mac, Frank and Favre Fan (how would you like to be stuck with that group for a weekend?) that they haven't found a way to combine their IQ's and get a job at Staples or Taco Bell.

Or would Leash have to complete the application for them and then walk in and explain to the manager why these guys should be hired to put lettuce on the tacos! As it sure does seem he does most of their heavy lifting.

The only reason anyone would bring up baby's job is because he tells everyone how stupid they are.
Everyone is dumber than baby. Everyone.
When you find out the self proclaimed smartest guy on the board isn't a nuclear scientist or a doctor or professor... well it hurts a bit. It's almost a letdown that he might not be the Rhodes Scholar that he claims to be.
I mean if he is the smartest board member here, I'd want him working at NASA or Cambridge or JPL or some university curing cancer, building perpetual energy machines and in whatever spare time he has being in the metallurgy lab creating a room temperature superconductor.

Haven't you read Leash's thoughts on the matter, it really doesnt matter what you do for a living, it is no relection on your intellect.

Hold on, the towel guy is here, let me ask him what he thinks about this employment contract!

I'm pretty happy with my job and my current lot in life. That's one of the many reasons I don't insult people for what they do for a living. Your insecurity knows no bounds.

Also, your writing is comparable to a junior high kid(probably giving you too much credit with this analogy), which is where all the community college jokes come from. Maybe work on your self before giving others advice.

I just don't understand all this BigFan animosity.

It's like somebody invites you in their home and you tell them their furniture looks tacky and the odor in the house smells like a crawlspace mystery.

I'll always be thankful this place exists and I always thought BigFan was a very fair moderator who took a lot of shit. If I ran this place,I would not suspend anybody but create a "penalty box thread" where only the suspended could post their thoughts but could not in any other threads. I'm sure it could be created with login permissions.

Bigfan not read so good.

I don't know what you're specifically referring to, but if you think someone's financial lot in life is dictated primarily by their IQ, you're either brainwashed, dumb, or both.

I find it to be ironic that you constantly call out crony politics (JERRY AND CHUY AND MR CHANGE) and yet those views don't give you a little insight into the fact that our system promotes people who are connected, not skilled.

Additionally, the things you value in a career or job aren't the same as everyone else. Some value money, some value independence, some value relationships, and some just value quality of life. The common "ditch digger" example is a good one. Actual "ditch diggers" (which don't exist anymore) would lead a labor-intensive life, but, all things being equal, I'm sure they would lead a healthier and longer life than most.

There are a variety of factors that go into how one chooses to earn their living, and money is usually a very small part of it. That's why it's futile and ignorant to judge someone based on what they choose to do. It's a very insecure and pathetic thing to do.

He looks down his nose at most of the posters here. He makes fun of people's jobs. He took personal shots at people, after he banned them, and they couldn't respond.

I love the defense of BF here by saying that BM does this, and BM does that. Well, if you think BM is a loser and a terrible person, then perhaps you should aim higher, instead of rolling around in the mud with him. Being afforded certain benefits and advantages that others didn't have, and then ripping on those people for their lot in life, is just bush league.

I would like to think that if I grew up in country clubs and lake houses, I would have a little perspective. One thing is abundantly clear. Money cannot buy class. I know that some of you will chalk this up to jealousy, but I assure you this is not the case. I wouldn't trade places with him for all of the tea in China. Money can't buy what I have. Shiny toys in the living room and garage mean little to me.

jimmypasta wrote:

This is the internets, not somebody's home. I have never been to his home. If I did, I wouldn't complain about his furniture. I'm sure it's very nice.

jimmypasta wrote:

As will I. He definitely does not get enough credit for putting this place together, and keeping it going. I have met so many great people through this place, and have wasted countless hours being entertained. That said, the idea that we all have to "kiss the ring" is preposterous. He actually referred to posters as ingrates.

When he is right about something, I will give him credit, such as the "HWH" (hot water heater) on blueprints. Many told him he was wrong, but he was right, and I had his back. If he says something stupid, like making fun of the jobs of others, or people watching the TVs that they stole, I should be able to retort without fear of being banned.

jimmypasta wrote:

In the beginning, yes, but not in the last few years. FF and Leash got banned for saying it was stupid that I got banned. Who even knows why Douchebag, Frank, and Jerkwood got banned as many times as they did. Because they were smart asses? The "Do not cross" line was moved seemingly on a daily basis.

The penalty box idea is a good one. I have seen it at other forums.

I think you are confusing Daniel's moments. "If you get so mad, that you want to roar, take a deep breath...and count to four." We have watched a lot of Daniel Tiger over the last few years.

Why can't you just let me have my own moment for once?

I think that:

Think about how someone else is feeling
Think about how someone else feels
Maybe you can help them feel better

Fits this last 24 hours pretty well.
