If they lose I wouldn't be surprised if this is one of those times where a team leaks stories indicating that an injury to a player was more severe than reported.

I think he is hurt but I don't think it is affecting his play as much as having to guard Westbrook. Prior to this season he'd never guarded Westbrook. Also, Curry has had explosive games post injury. Against Portland he went off a few times and he also went off in game two. He is moving around fairly well in my opinion but he has to guard which they never want him to do. I think they will switch him over to Robertson next game. If that happens expect him to play much better.

Called this 3 games ago. It is laughable how they aren't even guarding him Robertson

OKC's big "leaders" are brain dead chokers. Golden State has become completely unlikable to me. I really have no use for any of the Warriors or the fluky style they play.

How many titles do they have to win for this to stop being the perception? Genuinely curious.

Frankly the more titles they win, the less respect I have for the 2010's brand of NBA basketball. They don't play defense & live by quick release driveway basketball. I respect their shooting, but the rest of their game (& most of their "personalities") is gutless in my book. This game is worse than indoor soccer with it's flopping and non-threatening play.

Golden State was the 4th ranked defensive team this year, and the number one defensive team last year.

Why did Durant take that stupid two-point shot?

unbelievable. GS should've put this game away long ago. OKC shooting like crap. Westbrook has all of 3 points this half.

Well, that's that. At least it's just shitty lame shouldn't-have-the-Sonics Oklahoma City having their hearts broken.

Sad that OKC choked and now the 96' Bulls, the greatest basketball team of all time, will be completely forgotten.

Cavs have no chance against the Warriors.

BTW, good posts, RR. I agree completely.

I'm curious to see where you got those numbers from. They were number one when Mark Jackson was there and the general consensus I've heard is that they've fallen consistently over the last two years. It seems as if they've been openly described as lacking on that end all year. I can't imagine legitimate numbers(if there really are any) that put them even in the top quarter.

I'd have really long thoughts about signing him to a max deal. He really is Sybil in basketball shorts.

GS didn't need to defend Westbrook at all tonight. He missed wide open layups, threw the ball away half a dozen times trying to take ill-advised 3's early in the clock, picked up his dribble 2 steps over half-court for no discernible reason....had all of 5 points in the 2nd half, despite having the ball in his hands 90% of the time OKC was on offense.

Durant should bug out for Boston this off-season. He's not going to win staying in OKC with Westbrook.

Points per 100 possessions is what I used, and that's the standard statistic for offensive and defensive rankings. It's clearly legitimate. Draymond Green, Klay, and Iggy are three of the best defensive players in the league.

Simply put, it's crazy to suggest GS is a subpar defensive team. There is just no fact based criteria in which to reach that conclusion.

Iguodala & Draymond(in that system) I see, but we'll have to agree to disagree on Klay. Klay plays less D than his old man did.

As for your reliance on that one number, I'd suggest that it's a bit high especially given what passes for "team defensive rankings" for GS that a quick Google search provided. In any event, I wonder how much of that# is based more on the offensive pace they play with as opposed to the actual defensive effort they give. Imo, dumb teams falling into a run and gun pace and trying to match a great "Horse" team in a 3 for 3 battle isn't so much good defense, but rather an indictment of the common poor/stupid play & coaching in the NBA.

We disagree more on Klay Thompson than Bart Starr. That dude is an awesome defender.

I think the pace of play wearing down opponents as much as skill is a valid counter argument, but I don't see any good defensive team ranking that say GS is anything but a very good defensive team also. The eye test backs that up, for me. They can struggle against size but when they have a lineup like Livingston, klay, Iggy, Draymond, and bogut out there, that's a lineup that's going to stack against any in the league I would think in defensive terms. Curry plays a relatively decent free safety when they hide him on the worst guy, and every other player except Barnes in the rotation is good on defense.

Great series. That 3rd qtr OKC was out scored 29-12... This 3-1 hole GS climbed out of was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Steph really stepped up tonight, and I don't think the refs influenced this series too much from my initial take. Good stuff fellas.

FF you should have taken the bet with Cof

Wonder if KI and TM will be around any time soon after their predictions

Go laugh at TM for me. I can't in good conscience do it. I was right about GS winning the series and wrong about everything else.

was a fun watch tonight. westbrook was way off his game for most of the night. some of those klay/steph shots i dont know what the hell you do defensively to stop them... they just went in over and over again, many of them contested. OKC to me looked very fatigued during that 3rd quarter where they pissed the game away. they got frustrated and everything went to hell and that was it.

I'm not sure what you mean.

That was a tough loss for OKC in Game 5, but this team has the mental toughness, basketball smarts, and coaching brilliance required to clinch in Game 6!
