Best of my knowledge - no. If anything, it was very minor and forgettable?

No he hasn't done anything.
It would be funny if the show ended with him becoming king after everyone else kills each other.

I don't know anything about the books and I'm sure GRRM/HBO has added/subtracted things and people during the seasons.

Does Ned Stark or King Robert ever return in some capacity?

Love that first episode...

King Robert to Ned Stark: "You've got fat!"

Ned looks down at The King's waistline and smirks a great look.

Oh, I think it's definitely coming this season.

I think they need to move a few more pieces into place before we see it. It's probably still a little too early to have that development.

Ok, im not gonna make a big deal but does that happen in the books? The beheading? If so that is a pretty big spoiler to post without warning. Way bigger than just speculating about a return

First of all, the show has gone way off the rails from the books.

Secondly, that did not happen in the books.

In the books, there is no confirmation as to who any of the following are:

Ser Robert Strong
Lady Stoneheart
Coldhands
The Gravedigger

And possibly more. While I believe what most people believe, the show could go a different route with these characters completely. For example, in the show...they don't even try to portray the Mountain as Ser Robert Strong.

Anyway, in the books Sandor Clegane is presumed dead. Same as in the show. But by two different methods / people.

No. This is all speculation.

You're not even sure if the Hound is alive in the books although it's hinted at strongly. You don't even know if the Mountain is for that matter for sure although, again, strongly hinted.

I just meant that I think Hound vs. Mountain is coming. I didn't even see the part about the beheading to be honest.

Oh ok, good. My bad.

Ive always thought the Hound was alive since they never showed him die. Thought the same of Stannis though.

I'm not a huge fan but I'm not certain that it's leading nowhere, either. I think her appearance would be bad news for Jamie.

The Brotherhood with Banners could be interesting.

They would rally with Jon Snow, I imagine. Jon Snow does not represent the noble establishment, and there is the Lord of Light connection now.

That would make sense. Right as Jaime is turning into a quasi good guy and people are rooting for him...KILL HIM

I think they're kind of running out of things for Jamie to do. He's been kicked out of King's Landing. They seemed to have dropped the whole Myrcella/Dorne revenge plot completely. Now he's off to try to defeat the Blackfish...I guess fighting along with the Freys? That's not a good look.

It could be interesting if Jamie somehow got hooked up with Tyrion again just to resolve that since Jamie said he'd kill him but I don't think that is happening.

I think Jamie gets killed. Tommen gets killed somehow, probably by the High Sparrow. Cersei goes crazy and blows up King's Landing like Bran saw in his vision with the wildfire.

Tommen seems like a good candidate for suicide. His death was foretold, and he seems an easy target to be manipulated.

It certainly seems like they have run out of things for Jaime to do. Why have that Dorne takeover and then do nothing with it? That entire angle seemed forced. Should have had the king conspire with the Sand Snakes to kill off Myrcella, declare war on the crown and try to have his son marry Daenerys . More interesting to have multiple houses trying to whoo her.

Strong is certainly the reanimated Mountain...the head sent to Dorne was only a huge skull with no flesh on it...it could have been any extra large dude. One bizarre theory I just read was some people think the Mountain really was beheaded and joffrey's head was sewn onto the Mountain's body...that'd be a twist.

Oh, I agree. But in the books...Cersei doesn't say such things as "I have the Mountain" like she did last week.

I've read that one. Or Robb Stark's head.

I thought the books made a point that the skull that was sent was so large that there was no question - that it couldn't be anybody else.

Yea, I love that Joffrey theory. That would make perfect sense. (In a GoT world)

There is pretty certain confirmation on who Lady Stoneheart is in the books.

Coldhands was not confirmed as Benjen...and actually, I thought Coldhands was a new, more ancient, character. I'm cool with him being Benjen.

That's just what they wanted the Dornians to think. There are more huge dudes running around...Hodor for example.

As far as I know, the Freys believe it is Catelyn Stark and I think they discuss that. But I don't believe anyone with the Brotherhood confirms it. At least not any confirmation I remember.

But it is Catelyn Stark.

Nothing is confirmed. This could all be the hallucination of Bran.

There are some passages in the book that imply that the Mountain doesn't have a head which is why he doesn't speak or take off his helmet ever.

He clearly has a head in the show.

I honestly don't know what to think about how it's written in the books. Simplest answer, I guess, is they found another dude with a big head and that would match what is going on in the show.

The Faceless God storyline was boring and I'm glad Arya left it behind. I don't see how Joffreys pin head could fit on the mountain without looking very odd and undersized. It is pretty much known that Tyrion is not a Lannister so I'm guessing Jaime dies @ River run and Tommen is poisoned ..leaving only Cersai as the last Lannister and she goes mad.

they certainly don't come out and say it but it makes mention of a slit across her throat, and that she was seen with her neck slit and her naked body tossed into the river.

Dany makes a variant of that same goddamned speech at least once per season. Get the fuck to Westeros already! I am so sick of that pointless storyline and her boring ass dragons, which they insist on keeping while killing off all the dire wolves. Kill Ramsay already. He's a fucking cartoon villain. From what I remember about the season leaks I read, I think Episode 9 is the Bastard Bowl, which I imagine is when Jon attacks Winterfell.

Can't disagree about Dany. Although her speech was basically the Khal Drogo speech from season 1.

I think GRRM is making her the Aerys-type villain - which I think would be interesting.

Agreed, Dany the dragons and the unsullied are putting me to sleep.. I was surprised to see that Sam's old man was pretty wealthy and his house had a Valerian sword.

I was reading some theories this morning and I like the - Arya Stark stole her mothers face and she is coming to get Frey.
