Just heard Hub tell the panel on Sports Talk Live that aside from the off the field problems, Aroldis Chapman is not that good and he doesn't think he could help the Cubs. He actually said that Chapman has never reached his potential. A career E.R.A. of 2.17, four consecutive seasons of 33 plus saves for mediocre Cincinnati Reds teams, 561 K's in 328 innings, and a career WHIP of 1.00. Yeah Hub, he sucks. This is the same guy who gave up his Cubs season tickets a couple of years ago, blaming Theo and company for not bringing in free agents to make the team better. Having the team win more games at that time would have prevented them from adding the players they now have. These same players that Hub now cannot stop giving a regular tongue bath. Hub stick to your area of expertise...NFL football...No wait...

That's an all time bad sports opinion.

The guy has a career K/9 of 15.38. That's only, you know, the best strikeout rate of all time.

If the Cubs got him I would run down the street naked covered in jello with my hair on fire.

He seriously said that? Chapman absolutely could be a bad guy, but he's been easily the best closer of the last few years.

i like hub's predictions.

he often predicts one thing and then predicts the exact opposite all in the same sentence.

I was in the car during the 7 pm hour and got to hear Hubert's Theater of the Absurd yesterday as well. Among other things proffered on his show was that Kyle Schwarber will hit 50 home runs, Addison Russell will go to 10 all star games and not challenging a caller that Chapman for Vogelbach would be a fair trade.

The station is full on Cub fan boy these days. I understand that is the character. It doesn't justify ridiculousness from the hosts of a place that talks about how it makes fans smarter.

I don't know if he even got to the Bears as I only listened for an hour. I'm sure his thoughts would have been incorrect on them as well

It's pretty obvious the guy is trying to cobble together enough pay checks to keep a suburban existence. It would be nice if he were somewhat reliable as he plays the role of insider

Hub is a season ticket holder. He doesn't hide being a fanboy like Rozner does.

As someone else noted, he bailed on his season tickets during the tanking years...kind of a microcosm of Hub's existence

He has plenty of incorrect football thoughts as well. I know he is a Bears fanboy as well but there has to be some sport he can analyze clearly

Is Chapman on the trading block if the Yankees can't get it together? Cubs would be crazy to not go for him if he's available. They have the talent to make a trade and this team is loaded. Hub is an idiot - my biggest issue with him is that, to me, he states his opinions as if they are facts, and he really does little more than speculate like the rest of us.

So he's not nothing then.
