I saw him at the Chicago Theater last night.

Good show, not great. He is funny and I like his style

The crowd was about 75% dudes most of whom had facial hair. There were several baseball hats turned backwards. It seems like the facial hair thing is not limited to hipsters anymore. It is the tribal tattoo of this generation. At least you can cut a beard. Still, there were plenty of hipsters in the crowd. I overheard the words "I think he brings a different ethos to comedy" as I was walking out.

I get why Louis has a woman as an opening act (reportedly because he asks if he can publicly masturbate in front of them). However, a woman really doesn't mesh with his style. This one was some annoyance from The Daily Show. I didn't laugh once but some metrosexual guy in front of me was convulsing with laughter and sharing every moment with his girlfriend.

Overall, it was a good night.

Thats weird. When he was in liberal hell madison last summer, it was half women in the room. He definitely lost his edge, or at least kept it somewhat tame, but overall great show and everyone was happy to see him besides the 12 weirdos outside protesting
