If the Cubs had a one game play-in tomorrow, are you still starting Arrieta? I don't think the answer is that easy, given the performance of the test of the staff and Arrieta's recent "struggles."

Tell me I'm wrong.

You're wrong. It's obviously Arrieta.

He hasn't played poorly Leash. Lets relax a bit before we start panicking about Arrieta. He will be fine and yes it is only June. I am more concerned about everyone staying healthy for the playoffs.

Hypotheticals are sorta what we do here.

Agreed... not "poorly"... but the Cubs rotation is killing it. I'm just asking if you would have the most confidence in him.

Hypothetically, would you trade Arrieta for Sale? If this was a video game I would, but I question what that would do to the chemistry of the team. What kind of message would it send? and would Sale's personality fit with this team?

Yes, I would leash. He has proven he is a big game pitcher in last years one game playoff. Lester is too unpredictable and Hammel lacks confidence in himself. No one is afraid of Hendricks.

I would absolutely trade Arrieta for Sale, and I'm not even aware of Sale's contract situation. He's considerably younger and has never played on a good team.

Arrieta is starting to annoy me. Way too cocky with his workout videos and shit. Way to get singled to death by the deadass Diamondbacks. Go do some more squats.

Arrieta pissed hot and MLB told him to get off the juice. The fall was beginning a month ago and its only going to get worse. Cubs should be very thankful they have Lester, even if that contract will an albatross.

It's nice you checked in and posted about the team that weighs heaviest on your mind.

I started the thread a long time ago but of course it got purged because this board crashes every other day. MLB doesn't ban players who the big marketable franchises dont want banned (ORTIZ), Cubs asked for Arrieta's positive test to stay under wraps and MLB agreed as long as Arrieta quit the juice.

You should really consider going back on your meds.

I look forward to a certain group of people completely bashing the "new 3" for allowing ^^this person^^ to post here.

I mean......for years to come. That's what you guys do. It was one of your "fall backs".
He's here now. Let's hear it. Don't stop.
Don't stop until he's gone.
Be relentless. Just like before.

ES deserves all of the blame he gets. I do not question that. He's a loser.

BUT! Be sure to blame the people that are allowing him to continue to post....just like you did before.

Jake had a stellar game in the Wild Card and when he was on ESPN on the national broadcast last year VS the Dodgers, threw his first no hitter, so I think he's a guy who rises to the occasion and would be my choice.

There aren't any new posters here. It's the same board that it has been for years. We are who we are.

Let's hear the non-stop blame for allowing him to post. Has he changed?
Have the rest of you?

Sale only makes like 9 million this season and then it goes up to 12, then 12,500,000 and then 15 million in 2019 the final year of his deal. If he stays healthy, it's a great bargain and it's even better for the club in that his 2018 and 2019 years are club options. So should he get hurt, they can negate the rest of the contract with a 1 million dollar buyout. That's right, just 1 million. Yeah, between his great stuff and that kind of club friendly contract, that deal would make a lot of sense. But not for the Sox obviously.
