I have been preemptively job hunting for a few months. In April, got an email from a company's HR person to set up a screening interview, which happened thr following week. A week later I spoke to the new local manager and his manager for a 30-minute phone interview. A couple of days later, they set up an in-person interview for the next week. The in-person interview was with the local manager and two of his lead guys, which lasted about 90 minutes. I was told at the end that the next step would be a video conference with the regional manager about a week later.
That in-person interview happened 5 weeks ago today, and I never did hear back from the regional manager about the video conference...
Hey, if it was round one, I could understand the lack of any contact if I wasn't considered a candidate, but after round 3? WTF? Give me some kind of response FFS
I feel your pain. This has been off and on, an 18 month search for me. The way companies leave people hanging is terrible. Hang in there.
Mojo sent your way.
Another similar company I applied to after the one above:
* HR recruiter contacted me in February; screened me a bit, then said he was forwarding my info to the service manager doing the hire; did not hear from anyone until the same HR guy contacted me in
April saying the exact same thing, BUT the movement on the job opening was delayed due to the company's "bean counters", then
* Service manager the next week set up a phone interview, which lasted 30 minutes. From there, the following week, I had another three-on-1 interview for about an hour in their local office. The manager, on the way out, asked if there was an urgency due any other offers pending ("no").
* 10 days later (last week), he called to say that the opening was put on hold again by the company - for 6 months or so
.
My take is that I was his guy and I would have received an offer; otherwise he just would have said we decided to go with a different candidate.
