I watch baseball when I am not working. Broadcast is much better without the old coot Hawk I must say. Frank while we are being friendly and all why don't you and I try to be civil towards one another. I mean this. I am extending an olive branch of friendship. Lets try to get along. Melky Cabrera bunted with runners on 1st and 2nd and nobody out...in the 1st inning. Benetti was sure to include "Melky, who has been known to call his own number and try to sneak in a bunt" into his call of the play itself, and the two circled back to make sure everyone knew this wasn't Robin's call.

Either way, it was a stupid, stupid play, that shouldn't be condoned by the manager or broadcasters.

Of course, runners on 1st and 2nd with nobody out yields 0 runs, in part because one of the team's better hitters was either told or allowed to give away an out.

Also, get this crap off my screen about DISH dropping WGN. Don't care, not my problem, it shouldn't be a crawl on an over-the-air broadcast channel.

The least he could do is try and change his managing style a little. Don't take the bat out of Melky's hand.

That may be, and he should be punished for it, but won't be. A manager creating an atmosphere where such stupidity is allowed is almost just as bad as explicitly calling for it.

Still, I'm not so sure Ventura didn't have an active role in that play, Stone and Benetti are probably under orders to cover for Robin's stupidity whenever possible.
