#Blackhawks acquire a pair of draft picks from Carolina in exchange for forwards Bryan Bickell and Teuvo Teravainen.

Not completely thrilled to see Teravainen go BUT it would seem to indicate they're rather comfortable with Breadman going forward.

I'm ok with this. TT didn't seem to be growing into an assertive enough player. If that what it took to get rid of Bickell's bad money this season, then so be it.

It shows the Hawks are going to go for it again.

TT had plenty of chances. You either get in Q's good graces or you dont. Whether thats right or wrong, Q never liked him and was going to continue to shuffle him around and make him a healthy scratch. He might blossom into something good but he wasnt going to do it for this team with this coach. He was the price to pay to get rid of fuckboy.

We traded a center and draft picks to give him two wingers and he still couldn't prove himself as a center. I think he took himself out of town with that.

Now with Bickell's shitty money finally gone and another center traded away, the Hawks have to get serious about contending in 2017. I just don't know if they can with a #1 center who's only gonna give you 55 points.

He who trades the young Finn will pay with his life. The God Ukko will smite his neck with the hatchet of lightning and offer his head to the Great One (not that Great One).

Teavu was awful last year and finally Bicks is gone. Means we keep Shaw. Cant keep every young player with the salary cap. Pens are in the same situation. Many said they would be terrible with so much money tied up in Cosby and Malkin. They just won the cup. Hawks will contend again next year.

Dude, I'm not really a hockey fan, but I follow all sports to some degree. You're probably the most knowledgeable hockey fan that posts in this forum, yet you have this one singular idiotic view regarding Toews. I'm not sure how that can be. I will just say this, if they don't win next season, it's not going to be because of some deficiency of Jonathan Toews.

The trade was made, one guy had a problem with his Visa and couldnt really crack the lineup after that. TT is 21yrs old, let that sink in before you are talking about a guy in his mid 20s. If he were 27-28yrs old, I would agree.

So we get rid of Bickell and most likely get to sign Panarin and Shaw?

They should use the money to try and keep Ladd before they even talk to Shaw.

In 3-4 years, TT could be terrific...the Hawks have to play to win now and needed to unload Bickell's contract to do so. Necessary evil, working within this cba.

When 4% of your roster represents 15% of your budget as Toews does, you have to get serious production out of him. He's supposed to be a #1 center. I'm not asking for 100 points, but he has to be closer to 70 than 50.

Ladd gives you the size and grit, but The Hawks don't need to be giving a 4+ yr deal to a 30yr old.

Ladd's only in it for the money at this point. Eleven years, two championships, got to be a captain on a beloved team, nothing left to do but get one last payday, inevitably from a team that can offer more than we can. Probably gonna be from Vancouver, overpaying to get a BC boy and make people forget what a dogshit roster it's become.

I mean, yeah, all things being equal, of course Ladd is objectively better than Shaw, but Shaw's our glue. It's just that sometimes he makes us get dizzy and taste colors.

Just to tack on ... Toews' points (58) amongst Centers ranked #23 tied with two others ... there were eight centers at 70+ points.

Dan's still waiting for McClure. Maybe now the stories will come out about Teuvo Teravainen's toxic masculinity.

Not being held accountable for the production of their teams' most important forward, probably.

I will bag on CH for a being a dark cloud about the team in general and a Toews hater, but in this case, CH is correct. Toews had a down year and the team will not win with 55 pts out of your #1 Center who makes over $10M per season. it's not good enough.

My criticism on Bowman is this....this deal should have been made one year ago. It may not have been Teuvo but h just proved Bickell''s contract could be moved...even after 1 additional year indicating he sucked.

Teuvo may bounce back but he did this to himself. He was not very good last year.

I don't think there's a more perfect team for Teuvo than the Carolina Hurricanes. All that team does is get punched in the mouth and draw penalties. They just don't do anything with it.

I don't know the answer to my question, so don't feel bad either. Most of those guys are scorers, and I am not trying to make an excuse but I feel El Capitan is more of an all around player. But to be fair, we need points out of him.
