Hammel gets the chance to get the series victory tomorrow afternoon against Strasburg. Strasburg is great, but Hammel has had the better ERA this season and his history against the Nationals is very good, so there is good reason to believe they can take it.

The Cubs faced Gio Gonzalez tonight who is a pitcher for the Washington Nationals. He is a left-handed pitcher which is also known as a "southpaw". On the other hand the Cubs had John Lackey pitch for them tonight. Lackey is from Texas where they are known to bring the "country hardball". The game was very well pitched. Nonetheless after 9 innings the Cubs scored 4 runs and the Nationals 3. So we can confidently conclude the Cubs won the game.

This bullpen is scaring me. The 7th inning was Grimm or Strops job and the 8th was whichever one didn't take the 7th. Rondon doesn't need to get 5 outs. If Grimm weren't almost as big of a steaming pile of shit as Richard is then he would have been out there. This team absolutely needs another RHP and LHP in the pen that can get out of an inning with inherited runners. In other words, Grimm and Richard need to be replaced by guys that don't suck. Grimm might be able to right the ship but Richard is a pile of shit this year.

Strop has been a beast this season.

Grimm and Ramirez (RIP) have shat their pants this year and fucked up the formula.

Why the hell not? Fuck it, I can die a happy man. I only hope I make it that long.

We can bury the ghosts of Garvey, Clark and Gonzalez in one fell swoop.

With our luck, the goddamn Yellowstone caldera will blow in October.

Aggressive baseball is winning baseball.

Rizzo has like a 99.9% success rate on sac flies. I don't mind it.

I couldn't quite figure out how to put it ... you did so pretty well, and not too terribly acerbic either!

Montero seems to get worse throwing down to second with each passing game.

So, this is the point in the season where Hammel starts sucking, right?

I have a hard time believing some regular ass bum turns into the best hitter in baseball with a few adjustments. Murphy and Arrieta must be sharing the same stuff.

All things are possible with Jesus Christ and a few cycles of Deca.
