He raved about the huge crowds at his festival appearance, although it was so poorly attended, ticket prices had to be dropped from $67 to $5, and was eventually forced to shut down early.

Nugent is the kind of guy who draws a line in the sand with his own feces.

If he hated America, he'd be a national hero.

Conscription is inherently un-American. What's gravy for the Ali is applesauce for the Nuge.

That war was right in his wheel house, he literally could have been Captain America fighting Communism with his bare hands

Instead he wore women's underwear, spackled peanut butter betwixt his butt cheeks and went to the draft board.

Wango tango indeed.

So he went to the draft board as Beardown?

Pretty sure context matters here.

On another forum, one of the guys that lives in the area said it was not really Nugent's fault - the WHOLE WEEK of musical acts (Steven Tyler and others) sold 400 tickets TOTAL. He said that it was the first time the festival allowed organizers and vendors from outside of the state, and apparently the promoter for this year's musical bookings was from out of state, priced the tickets too high, and skipped town even before the festival got going. It appears that none of the acts are going to see any cash from this at all, if they didn't already get their guaranteed money.

One dodged the draft because of principled beliefs that he explained and were deeply rooted in his experience and his people's experience as "Americans."

The other is a self-proclaimed patriotic, gun-toting, fear-mongering, mentally ill moron who talks about how much he loves his country and then skipped his turn to serve it.

Principled beliefs or convenient truths?

Who the hell are you to judge what either one was thinking at the time? Have you ever been faced with the life and death decision they were? You're doing nothing but attacking the guy you don't like for finding his own way of making the same decision as the guy you admire.

Would your opinion of Ali change knowing he endorsed Reagan for president? He did, btw.

 I can certainly judge them for their actions after dodging combat. Ted Nugent has been on a perpetual tour to tell every anti-war or "liberal" candidate what pussies they are ever since he, you know, intentionally faked being unfit to go to war. What a patriot.

Ali had the balls to state why he didn't go to war, was arrested, and as far as I know, hasn't been fear-mongering for the last 30 years. I have no idea if he supported Reagan, nor is it relevant.

Maybe Ted can help educate those about his "life and death decision" before he advocates for their deployment overseas.

If a guy on an internet forum said so, then it must be true. That's all fine and dandy, but why was he bragging about huge crowds full of sexy women, when that wasn't the case?

I wouldn't expect a festival with Steven Tyler and Ted Nugent as headliners to draw flies.

I would also add that Ali's beliefs never wavered, while the pedophile Nugent is a foaming at the mouth chickenhawk, when somebody makes the mistake of putting a microphone in front of him. He didn't want to go to war, but he thinks other people's kids should go fight brown people.

I'll attribute your lack of perpective to your age. Who really cares about the behavior after the fact? Just admit it, you don't like Ted's opinions about life and it's easy to attack him as such. You're nothing but an easy opportunist when it comes to someone's life decisions. In fact, you evaded Ali's endorsement of Reagan. Was that just an inconvenient truth?

Because he's Nugent - a raging, narcissistic douche who lies and exaggerates all the time. Doesn't dispute what the musical organizers at the festival did or didn't do. Plus, it was a BIKER fest - don't you see what they trot out at Sturgis every year?

Anyone with a brain? Anyone with any sort of principle?

Don't mention my age, please, as it has nothing to do with it but is an easy way for you to try to act like you are knowledgeable. How old are you, anyway?

You obviously don't have a brain, regardless of your age.

You still didn't address Ali's endorsement of Reagan. What say you?

What dog whistles? Are you familiar with Nugent's rhetoric? Here is a refresher in case you forgot.

http://www.vocativ.com/culture/society/ ... ims-islam/

That is funny coming from the guy who turned the thread about Nugent's poor concert attendance, and his claims to the contrary, into Ali, and then Reagan.
