So long Cam, you will be missed

CHICAGO (CBS) — As trade speculation continues to swirl less than a week before the NBA Draft, the Bulls made a minor move Friday.

Chicago traded power forward Cam Bairstow to the Detroit Pistons for guard Spencer Dinwiddie, the team announced. The Bulls had a need for reserve guards as Derrick Rose often deals with injury problems and E’Twaun Moore and Aaron Brooks are entering free agency. Acquiring Dinwiddie essentially gives Chicago a no-risk look at him over the summer, as he’s currently on a non-guaranteed contract, with $250,000 of that becoming guaranteed on Nov. 1.

The 23-year-old Dinwiddie averaged 4.8 points and 1.8 assists in 12 games for the Pistons last season, when he was rarely in the rotation and also spent time in the D-League. Dinwiddie has a history of injuries, including ankle and knee ailments last year. Dinwiddie is a career 17.3 percent 3-point shooter in limited action across two season. He was selected by Detroit in the second round (38th overall) in the 2014 draft.

Bairstow, 25, was a little-used reserve for the Bulls, averaging 1.9 points and 1.6 rebounds in 18 games last season. Chicago selected Bairstow in the second round (49th overall) in the 2014 draft.

Hats off to Baristow.

The guy has been able to cash an NBA check for over two years without bending his knees.

yep. He is not to far away from earning a pension without actually PLAYING in the league.

I pull for these fringe players to get enough years to get that pension

My favorite part of the Dinwiddie era was when it allowed us to get rid of Baristow's corpse.

Wouldn't have landed Wade without him.

Hopefully Dinwiddie can soften the blow felt by the departure of Etwaun Moore
