Tipping back some brews, making tacos and popping some Dom.

Smoke a cigar and toast some scotch later in the night.

Yes, but probably not top water unless I'm feeling lucky.

I'm actually researching some clubs right now... if you have any recommendations, PM me. Not sure where you're located.

Today: Up at 5am for my eldest son's first of two games today. With youngest son @8am for a 7 on 7 tourney. Youngest got sent back as they've now decided to play him exclusively at right DE. Eldest pitched 3 innings in two games w/5Ks and displaying a new confidence on the mound.

From now until I pass out tomorrow evening: Grazing, drinking, sleeping & lots of the College World Series. Just talked to my dad. He generally has the same plan. Minus the drinking and CWS, but he will if we go up to Kenosha next weekend for baseball.

Basically grew up there. Cypress Resort. Directly across from the sand bar. My best friend's family has owned that property for 30 years.
My dad died in 1999, and my step-dad died in 2005.
:(
But I'm a dad of an amazing 10 year old girl, so I got that going for me.
We're broke this week, so festivities will have to wait til Friday.
Next Saturday, I too, will be on Petite Lake.

Fishing, grilling, drinking, playing bags & listening to the sox game at my beach club in Wilmington with my dad and step dad.

And playing the role of creepy guy watching girls in bikinis while wearing sox and sandals with a shirt that reads "drunks do it better".

I cant wait

We did the Petite Lake Sandbar Saturday.
Sunday, we anchored at Lake Catherine then headed over to Blarney.

We have an annual event on the Petite Lake Sandbar. Band sets up with Generators on a friend's giant House boat and plays out on the sandbar 1-5. Easily, my favorite day of the year. This year it will be August 6th....

I got married a year ago and this was my first "Fathers Day". I realize that I am only the step father and the kids are 13 and 18 and we aren't
that close. I asked my wife what the deal was for Fathers Day or whatever. She told me that she hadn't even thought about it and that she
didn't really consider me a "father". :eye: No texts or anything from either kid. I'm glad I signed up for this. Now I know what a "real"
dad feels like doing all the bullshit for people all year long with no thanks. I actually enjoyed the peace and quiet and watched some golf.
Glad I know not to expect anything in the future. We don't celebrate that one at my house. Hope everyone else had a nice weekend.

I worked 0600 to 1800, hustled home, then the boys and I baled the hay field in front of the house together. The daughter offered to help, but we really were full staff at three, so she watched. They had given me a new toaster for the day, the eldest had to wait for the Cubs game to end Saturday night for me to go to bed so he could set it up. I even had time to use it before work, and again this morning!!

They actually deserve the gifts for turning out so well despite having me as their father.

He got drunk and took to Facebook to take shots at me for not asking him to babysit my daughter while my wife and I were at a Bears game...that was the flashpoint.

He's a miserable asshole who hates what he's made out of his life. He is the type who spends every day blaming everyone else for his own issues. His wife is a drunken embarrassment. They are shitty parents to my little brother, who is all of 10...and I'm sure they've filled his head with nonsense about how I don't care about what happens to them...which I'm getting to a point where I don't. He's completely full of shit when he talks about how great a father he was to me (my grandparents raised me; the only smart decision he ever made was moving in with them when he was 21 and got full custody of a 6 month old he had no business trying to raise, let alone having). The worst part is that he's never grown up. He's now a 58 year old who just keeps looking for the next party. There's a lot more about how he completely fucked over family members who have tried to help him, but I don't have the energy or the patience to go back over that.

He has no idea he has another granddaughter coming along in August, and I don't honestly don't care if he finds out.
