"Clogging up the bases" is a myth.

If you hit an honest double in the gap,the slowest guy on first still makes it to 3rd.

Where is the clogging?

Weighted runs created and weighted on base tell the story.

I think the Organized Konfusion era Pharoahe Monch quote in your sig is an indication that you have much potential & will come around at some point, whereas, JORR is probably too old to change his ways.

You may be misuderstanding me. I'm not saying taking pitches/looking to walk is a bad strategy. I'm saying it makes a shitty game to watch.

"Clogging the bases" is a dumber concept than "run support".

There's a lot of randomness in a baseball game. It's a big reason why managers don't really matter. There have been two major changes in the game since I've been watching. The shortening of starts/bullpen specialization and the fetishization of the walk/seeing pitches. I think both have made a worse game for the fan.

2biggest changes for me lowering the mound and PED's

i get what you're saying (and thx) but wasn't the last organized konfusion album from either 1995 or 1996? and this quote is from releasing hypnotical gases, which was on the self-titled LP, which was.... uhh... 91-92? equinox = the jan brady of the bunch and had to be like 92-94.

I hold Equinox in a very high regard. I'm of the opinion that Pharoahe Monch was the best MC in the world right around the time that album was recorded (96/97). I prefer the skit-free version.

And I see your point, but JORR is old enough to have fathered us, you know what I'm saying.

She is an unattractive fat tub of shit that is annoying as fuck and should be tossed off of a tall building.

She can do something about being a fat turd, Mr. Benetti cannot do something about his condition.

Be like me and listen to the big 89 and enjoy the witty banter between Ed and DJ if you don't like Benetti.

I'll echo JORR's thoughts. Hawk was great once upon a time but his shtick grew into a Monster. It's time for him to hang it up.
Benetti is a nice change of pace. He's good at his job, but don't like combo if he and Stone...I can't think of anyone at this point that could be a good match with Stone.
Benetti and DJ....I'd be curious to hear that.

This is my only issue with him. Its nice to have something new and hear a guy talk about something new. I still love Hawk, but I realize that his time has long since passed. This guy is a total dork, and has a total dorky sense of humor, but I'm 100% ok with that. I like the dry humor he brings anyway.

I'm also willing to give Benetti the benefit of the doubt with how he interacts with Stone as he has still only done what 30 some games with him? I think that part of things will only get better.

I like him enough. He is a professional broadcaster. I agree with others I think he panders to Stone. My biggest complaint about him is his "voice inflection" and when he chooses to use that....For instance a full count on a batter with 2 outs and runner on first in the second fucking inning and the guy broadcasts it as if it were the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs. He is ok in my book....so far.

Hawk was a unique guy and I liked him, but his time is passed. I'll say one thing about this new guy as compared to Hawk, it really is pleasant to enjoy a game without it seeming like it's a matter of life and death. I'm unhappy when the Sox are losing too, but really this is entertainment, an escape. After a shitty day, you watch a Sox loss with Hawk at the wheel, your day just got eminently shittier. With this kid, at least it's light. I don't go to bed feeling like I want to murder someone.

I bet a Sock loss is even more hard to swallow, no matter who announces it, after you've sat through a Cub win in your Wrigley season ticket seats, no?
