I recently went to the doctor because I thought my heart was acting weird. Turns out the doc said I have stress and anxiety. I think hes full of shit but he put me on Zoloft and klonopin, it makes me feel like a relaxed psychotic. anyone else have experience/ opinions on these meds?

Btw the edible luggage is a reference to The State, the classic sketch comedy from the '90s. Ive been watching it while enjoying ice cold vodka and vaping.

Edit: im not suicidal, it was a poor wording.

Don't take Klonopin on an empty stomach.

So you have never been on meds for depression or anxiety before and your doctor's opening advice was Klonopin?

Agree. Best to stay away from benzos. Vodka and vaping sounds like enough to me.

They'd only (hopefully) prescribe you Zoloft if you expressed some sort of depression to the doc. I'm honestly not a fan of SSRs unless you truly have a chemical imbalance. I hope they didn't just prescribe you that because of potential side effects for Klonopin. K-pins are wicked. That's the only way I can think to describe them. They simultaneously treat anxiety and loosen arteries for better blood flow. They make you feel so relaxed. The side effects are scary man. Like real bad. Highly addictive, and can actually hurt your heart if you try to stop cold turkey. Also, DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE on k-pins. Fucking deadly. I've had some good times partying on k-pins with no scrip, but the irritability and chest pains the day after aren't worth it for me.

Just be careful my friend. Those are two scrips that need to be managed properly for you to feel better. I hope it works, and your heart can be happy again. I had a major issue with my heart like 8 years ago when I was 24, and I made things better with a cleaner diet and exercise. Next to your brain, your heart is most important. Good luck.

I truly appreciate your reply but im disappointed by the missing jiff! I deliver medical equipment for hospice patents for a living so I hope I can keep my shit together and function. I do feel better on the meds but I think dealing with terminally ill people every day has a lot to do with my condition.

yeah isn't klonopin some sort of an extended play version of xanax? IIRC they're both "benzos" and taking a few of either will chill/space you out, so make sure you don't drink with that stuff kicking in otherwise you're liable for a bit of a keanu style "whoa" but not necessarily in a good way, but more of an "i don't remember doing/saying that" way.

TLDR = as others have said here: tread carefully and be sure to respect the drug/s. idk shit about zoloft but if it's a SSRI then yeah dude, that stuff ain't fucking around; you shouldn't be either.

Ask C Howwit Fealz about the tiny, edible luggage.

They interact with each other. Did the Dr have you take an inventory like MADRS? Rx'ing those two drugs together or an SSRI/SNRI indivually shouldn't really occur.

And don't stop the Klonopin cold turkey.

You need to see a different doctor. This is the kind of stuff that second or even third opinions are for.

Unless it is a simple Xanax to take once in a while, the primary care should not be prescribing this stuff.

Thanks for all your input. I think ill just take the Zoloft and keep the klonopin on the shelf. I assumed it was some serious stuff because I noticed I was feeling like a zombie, kind of like a mindless human just going through the motions. The script says 2 a day, I must have went to a pill mill.

I don't know what a MADRS is but they did a CKG. Said everything checked out.

You'll be fine, Linderman. Don't listen to these armchair pharmacists.

The drugs do work. I really should take them more because I have debilitating social anxiety and anxiety in general.

I've got loads of both, but I rarely take them because I do not want to get addicted.

I've had some problems with booze before, but what really scares me is that I took a few different anti-depressants and I wasn't addicted but had to go through discontinuation syndrome, which is hell. I don't think benzos work that way, but I don't want to risk it. Not going through that again--I went psycho. (It wasn't Zoloft, but make sure to taper when you do quit that. Some people can go cold turkey; most can't. Paxil and Effexor are really bad; Zoloft not always.)

Anyway....everyone reacts differently.

I've turned to exercise instead for anxiety.
