You spend 7 fucking years in Chicago refusing to recruit any players to your team, but upon getting traded to New York you become a regular fucking salesman to bring your friends to MSG.

Eat shit.

Downtown Manhattan is equally ghost town-ish late night. GF and I hiked from the Chambers street stop just below Tribeca all the way across the island to our hotel down in the Seaport area on the Eastern shore of the island and saw maybe six people in that mile or so hike--btw 11PM and midnight, on a Saturday night. Mostly homeless trying to sleep.

Once you're below Chinatown on the east side and tribeca on the west, there's not much going on after 11 PM downtown NYC, at least at street level. LES/West Village all the way up to the midtown/times sq/to the park will be happening. But downtown Manhattan is no different than Chicago's Loop proper--mostly busy during business hours, except tourists on weekends looking for the WTC site/Battery park or to catch the ferry to Staten Island.

There is a Checkers open somewhat late night on Chambers that's a god-send if you need to take a piss and don't wanna do it in the street.

Knitting Factory used to be a few blocks north of there, on Leonard. But it moved out to Brookyln years ago.

Sunday night there seemed to be more people out downtown; Stout and Iron Horse both had decent crowds in em later in the evening. But that was due to Game 7.

Seaport area on the East River has become something resembling Church Street Station in Orlando--what used to be a run-down fish market/shipping pier area with a few dive bars is now high end dining. All opened since Sandy, so late 2012/2013 and after. Legacy businesses must've taken the flood insurance/government checks and sold out to restaurateurs and condo builders.

Think I like staying in Gramercy Park better. More happening, closer to everything. Enjoyable walk down 2nd Avenue into the LES bar areas from Gramercy Park . But having a rooftop deck in the Summer in Manhattan was pretty sweet. Gaggle of local bar/restaurant worker chicks celebrating one of their birthday weekends two suites over made me almost wish I didn't have the gf along for the trip.

I'm still pulling for the guy, it's hard to like him after he gets a Mic in front of him but he was fun to watch when he was healthy..he got me back into the Nba his rookie year...I will watch more Twolve and Knick games next year than Bulls.

I had successfully compartmentalized what he said from what he did but it soon followed that what he did perfectly reflected what he said.

It sounds like he has when he opens his mouth.

There is not a single guy in the league coming to a team because of Derrick Rose anymore. It would be like me recruiting to a swinger's party. Anybody who responds positively is not anyone you want to attend.
