They're on their way to righting it now against the shitty Red.

Pirate lose, Card win...gain a game and put one in the pocket.

Shows how amazing they have played so far this year that there is talk of righting the ship as they have a 10 game division lead

Probably how deserving Patton was to get the all-important Win.

Ok, so Patton got the win and there was no save (due to the 5-run lead).

Hypothetical scenario: Let's say Wood had pitched the entire 14th inning. Then the Cubs take a 1-run lead in the top of the 15th. Wood starts the bottom of the 15th in left field, with Patton pitching. After two are out, Wood comes in to pitch and Patton goes to left. Wood gets the final out. Does he get the win and the save?

No, you cannot get a win and a save.

I trust Travis Wood in LF but as a manager to use all your position players by the 13th shows the over managing that is really going on in 21st Century baseball. It's not just Maddon doing it. The Red's manager did it too.

Still a great win for the Cubs. 50 and counting!

Got to give credit to the Hendry regime for drafting Contreras.

Maybe he doesn't develop under that old system, but both he and another Hendry pick (Baez) have really contributed this season.

I still hate the barrel though.

Good game. It's over.

Swept a series we should of swept and established our new ace in Lester.

Just need to ditch Arrieta and fix the bullpen and the pennant is ours.

Wait until we get to Strop and Rondon.

Gas Cans Cahill and Grimm still have the opportunity to make this a shit show.
