Well, last year the Cubs swept the Mets at Citi (and Wrigley) in the regular season, and got swept in the playoffs.

So maybe the Cubs should aim to get swept this weekend. Sound logic.

I think Hammel is officially in his 2nd half slump.

I assume Warren will replace him in the rotation after he fucks up a few starts post-All Star break.

Wow is all I can say after this shit fest. This is the start of the Hammel choke. How in the fuck do you give up 5 homeruns? I'm sure Kasper, Maddon, or the radio guys will make up a excuse for him. You gave up 10 runs to a team that can't score shit. With Jake and Lester throwing the last 2, I need a series split. If they don't win both this weekend, the fans need to boo the shit out of them Monday afternoon. This has been highly embarrassing

when deshaies says that "we're due for a vintage arrieta start tomorrow" does he mean that we're gonna get something akin to his ~5.77/1.70 type stuff in baltimore?

...or is peak/god-mode arrieta already past us and now we're gonna refer to that "iddqd" stuff from 2H-2015-may2016 as "vintage" ?? i mean, yeah, he hasn't been quite as !!! as he was during his legendary run; but pretty much most of the top top aces across baseball are taking some lumps lately. shit happens.

So disagreeing with a dopey post that includes a call to "action" that is not only patently stupid but also accomplishes nothing more than a child's tantrum does is channeling my inner Bernsie?

We'll see if Dr. Bosio has been able to effect some of the corrective changes upon his charge that he indicated earlier this week.

I hope he proves me wrong, but I'm just about done with the 2nd go round of the Chris Coghlan experience.
