The Oak Park one is an embarrassment. Anyone got a good one? I bet Wheaton knows how to do a parade. Maybe Elmwood Park. Need a town that isn't ashamed to be American.

Well, the last parade I went to before today was in Harvard about 15 years ago. Now THOSE people know how to do a parade. Gave me hearing loss and eveything.

Elmwood Park probably still sucks. Unless Johnnies Beef walks in the parade and throws beefs at you. That would be awesome.

Oak Park had a cop on a segway, one firetruck, not even the big one, one ambulance, the boy scouts. couple army dudes in an old hummer and a rag tag of local arts and gay organizations on foot. no marching band, no VFW, no fife and drums, no sirens. oh and a couple cars from the vintage japanese car club.

Wow, that sucks. Crystal Lake had about an hour and a half worth of organizations, police, fire, gay organizations, jessie white tumblers, the shriners guys in the little cars, etc. And the dude on the big gerbil wheel. Everyone seems to love the guy in the gerbil wheel. And everyone stood up to clap for the military people because 'Mericuh!

I sat next to this chick who said she is a Bears superfan and travels as a result of it. No idea what she was talking about. She also got up once or twice and hugged random people on parade floats.
