Yeah, they'll probably crap it away in record-breaking, spectacular fashion.

It's like the fifth time Happy Days did a flashback to when Richie met Fonzie.

We've all seen it before. Nothing new under the sun.

Wow. Didn't even turn this back on after listening at work. Had this one in the W column.

But don't anyone dare criticize or it's "Cub fan panic" !!!!

The next phase of this narrative is that "this isn't the same team you will see for the postseason".

I think they will be alright as well. I just worry that they'll overreact and have to start making desperation trades to fill perceived holes.

At the end of the day, if Arrieta, Lester, and Lackey perform in a sub par manner, it doesn't matter who they acquire for the bullpen. The Giants or Nats will destroy them in the playoffs.

Bernstein and Holmes are already saying that.

I asked my wife to pick up some raisin toast. We already have butter in the frig. That should calm my nerves.

Dan speaking for management and Holmes speaking for Dan who is speaking for management. Perfect.

The radio dial is your friend. Turn it. Or do what I just did- turn the power off completely and fire up the toaster.

Yeah, I thought this one was different but it's probably 1977.

I'm not listening to Dan and Holmes. Just went off of Leash's post.

Don't blaspheme Jose Cardenal. He's my favorite player of all time. OF ALL TIME!

I traded a 1974 Billy Williams for a 1975 Jose Cardenal.

If only Heyward could put up Biittner's 77 numbers.

Luckily all teams have the same chance of winning in the playoffs. So you got a 1 out of 8 chance.

Could be the Scot Thompson Curse.

The timing works out. Can't be a coincidence.

I was just about to say this. It is a good thing that MLB playoffs are such a crapshoot. We get in, we gotta shot.

I had two.

The good news is they are all worthless now.

SO LONG RETIREMENT!

The 'fro on Jose's 1975 Topps was epic.

Not Oscar Gamble epic...but still real good.

In four months, we're going to look back at these past two weeks and laugh.

These two weeks won't matter in the least.

Damn it, Don. Let's not have this go to Krazy Ivan Court.

This will be the August 2005 of the Cubs' season.

Everything will be fine and get rolling for the playoffs.

Cubs looking about as bad as you could imagine lately. Starting pitching -- bad. Bullpen -- extra bad. Hitting -- bad. Defense -- really bad.

if the Cardinals weren't 11-23 at home (vs non reds/brewers), the Cubs might be in trouble.
