You can buy their frozen pies in grocery stores, too.

Why isn't Rosati's on this list? That's my go-to thin crust.

Rosati's varies greatly by location. I think they're franchised. The one in Carol Stream was one of my go-to's years ago, but the one by me now is awful. I'd rather have Pizza Hut.

The Rosati's in Schaumburg served me one of the worst pizzas I ever had in my life a couple months ago. There definitely is a huge difference in quality from location to location.

I'd be innerested to know of a quality location ... the one here in town is nothing special ... perhaps having a different owner every 12-18 months is part of that.

The Rosati's in Woodridge was owned by the same 2 guys for almost 40 years. They sold it about a year or so ago. I loved that place and worked there in high school.

The last time I went in, unaware of the ownership change, I saw the entire staff was completely different, and they were all wearing Rosati's baseball hats and shirts. The old ownership didn't care what you wore.

When I asked the guy cutting my pizza what happened, he proceeded to badmouth the previous regime, not knowing me from Adam. I was completely put off by his stupidity, as I loved the old place. Haven't been back since. Nice work, jag.

Which Carol Stream Rosati's? The one by the police station, or the one on Geneva Rd.?

I don't understand that list. What do they mean by "iconic"? Looking at that list, they obviously don't understand the definition of the word. Bartoli's may have great pizza (never been), but there's no way its considered iconic, let alone in the top 5 and ahead of places like Lou Malnatis, Homerun, Gino's, etc.

I would venture to say most people have never even heard of Bartoli's. Try saying that about most of the places that are behind them on the list.

Drove all the way from Palatine to try it. It's fine. Not worth the long trip. Give me Rosatti's thin.

Eater never ranks. They just list. It's not in any particular order.

Sarcasm?

The red markers on the map to the right have numbers. Easy to see where it's located.

Is Vito and Nick's more of a deep dish or thin crust place?

Also, how does it stack up against Casey's?

How the fuck can none of you nitwits see that the god damned list is alphabetical???

My Pi was my first introduction to deep dish when I was in high school, a classmate's father owned the place. It was still in the middle of the Loyola campus and thus had a following.

Vito and Nick's is very good. I used to go to the location in the bowling alley in Lemont, that V&N was owned by the original brother's family. Sadly the bowling alley closed and took the restaurant out with it.

My biggest problem with pizza these days is that the cost has gone out of bounds. $25 for a pizza from Lou's? Fuck that.
