Bad thread. Put Ugie on a performance plan.

Grew up in Antioch.
Channel Lake is the unincorporated suburb and it was equivalent to a trailer park.

Lots of tear-down rebuilds, but still pretty trashy.

Downtown Arlington sucks.

I believe the finest moment of my career was in defense of that trailer park. I was a very young attorney at that point, full of piss and vinegar for a case that had moral implications. I knew I was doing a great job but thought it would all be for naught. When the decision was read I remember thinking "did I just win?"

Makes sense that Park City is the work of a Sox fan.

I can't really say anything without coming off like a hypocrite since I did the unthinkable a few years ago when I married a west of Milwaukee Avenue Jew. Talk about slumming it...

There's no purpose to Prospect Heights. Even the name is just "not Mount Prospect, but not Arlington Heights."

sinicalypse is from EGV and if I'm not mistaken he has a healthy distaste for the suburbs along the Northwest Line. We might be in for a war.

I took quite the jaunt through EGV today, and yeah, it's straight industrial central.

I was in the Prospect Heights Independence Day parade. Some nice houses just north of Rob Roy. I hadn't been through there before.

There's a residential part of EGV east of Arlington Heights Road. It looks like anywhere else. The main industrial part has a grimness all its own, though.

I went to Prospect Heights schools despite living in Arlington Heights and walking to school. Weird borders.

I lived in Forest Park for 5 years, but it was literally on the border of both Oak Park and River Forest (A 2 block walk from my apartment to the Lake/Harlem strip mall could potentially touch all 3 towns technically). I hated how OP and RF were looked at as the nicer two burbs and FP was kinda the ugly stepsister when there isn't much of a difference.

The district 211 borders are oddly gerrymandered. Portions of Wheeling which are within 1.5 of Wheeling High School but are bussed to Buffalo Grove High School.

Buffalo Grove gets fed in from Wheeling, Arlington Hts and Buffalo Grove.

I'll be working in EGV for the next year or two I think (Oakton/83 area)....anything to look out for?

We were Arlington Hts/Prospect Hts/Wheeling in District 23, but some of us would have gone on to Hersey (as I would have, it being down the street) while others, like most of my friends at the time, would be sent to Wheeling. I remember dreading this eventual schism. Then I moved to Wisconsin instead.
