Are we talking "Wheel of Fortune" Chuck Woolery or "Love Connection"? Back when he was hosting WOF, they used to make you use the money you won to purchase items in a showcase. They were always way over-priced and you had to use as much money as possible (until you were down to less than the value of anything left).
