He very clearly typed that he's "a" face of MLB.

Pirate fans need to get over to remedial reading class at the community college.

I forgot to add... They been playing bums for 3 weeks now, and don't even try to say that Fowler is THAT important.. He's a nice player.. But he's not Willie Mays.

The or A. Not buying it. Rizzo is not in any Harper, Trout or even Thor category now. I am not talking us nerds. I am talking Joe blow catching a national game in Idaho.

He has nationally run commercials for MLB.

He is the face of MLB Gameday this year, as Adam Jones was last year.

Better to play shitty now than in October. They will come around. If the starting pitching stays this bad gonna be rough though. They will fix the shitpen and get healthy. Too good to stay bad for too long in my opinion. They have been a suckfest last 30 games however.

No, clearly none of that happened. We Cub fans need to get over reality, including that the team name's declension has, apparently, been re-appropriated to the singular form.

What another wasted inning. As usual a runner stranded at 3rd with less than 2 outs.

Fucking disgraceful

Why the Pirates don't just go back to those uniforms is beyond me.

Then again I'm a kind of a BIG FAN of all three Pittsburgh teams having the same colors too.

It feels like the Pirates are batting 1.000 with runners in scoring position and two outs.

You may not think it's time to panic, but I don't know how one could not be concerned. This has been a large sample size of bad pitching... not relatively bad pitching... not mediocre pitching... just straight up BAD pitching.

I don't think it's unreasonable to panic over the pitching.

It's evident to anyone watching that we need upgrades and we need them soon when it comes to arms.

This Arrieta is much closer to the real Jake than the one from last year. The Lackey deal is looking more and more like the Tim Hudson one out in San Fran. You hope you get this one year out of him and then you'll probably have to eat the remainder of the contract sometime during the second half of next year. Hammel is what he is. You get your one good half and that's all you expect.

Hendricks is fine. He cheap and gets the job done in the 5th spot.

Lester is the key though. If we're going to win it all within the life of his contract he's going to be a major reason why.

Yeah, the start this year was unsustainable, but that was clearly the primary reason for the tremendous start. The Cub offense can swing it with anyone, but it's not like they are a juggernaut. As is always the case, starting pitching is what matters... and the one guy who has been consistent over the past month is the number 5. The others haven't just dropped off... they've been bad.

I'm not saying they can't turn it around, but this shit has been really bad by any standard for quite some time now.

Do you move on from anyone in the rotation this year and upgrade the first chance you get?

Is Arrieta up after this year or next? I definitely don't sign him to anything big... but some team will be stupid, so he'd be gone.

I think the others depend on the rest of the season and what's available. Hammel is an odd one to figure out, and Lackey is old. They are both potential drops, but Lackey will undoubtedly be here next year. I don't know what Hendricks contract status is or what he would bear on the free market, but I think he'll always be a solid back end guy because he's not reliant on his stuff. He's not worth big money, though.

So, to answer your question, I have no idea.

WHEW!

Needed this victory big time. (Rejoice Gay!)

If the Cub can just get their pitching back towards average then we'll be okay. We'll slug our way to regular season success.
