I don't use public restroom stalls.

I always thought Wrigley missed the boat on communal shitting troughs.

I don't give much of a crap about the intricate workings of who hates who around here. But I had to post because I haven't thought of Monarch Services in a very long time. I knew almost all the main guys from the Avalon Hill gaming division back in the 90s, before my circle of friends' lives got too complicated with real jobs and pussy and babies for any of us to spend an evening now and then playing Up Front or Russian Campaign.

Curt Schilling's first foray into ruining a gaming company happened when he bought the rights to one of the titles from Hasbro, he had gotten into it when he came up to pitch for the Orioles, and later when he was up the road in Philly.

Chet, you have no clue how close some of that stuff hits home for me. We insured one of the Rhode Island entities that funded Curt's gaming company. Bad situation there.

As for Monarch, we followed that company closely as part of our general interest in the market. We found out about the company through a request for coverage. When the underwriter saw their filings, they recognized it as one of the oddest things he had ever seen in a public company. I can't even begin to lay out all the info I have about Monarch from articles and websites over the years, and the people I spoke to.

It was so crazy at one point with activist investors, that a guy named AJ Sutton created a message board to bring together shareholders. I saw that Eric Dott just died at 89 in April 2016. I used to call their corporate office and speak to the CFO, Marshall Chadwell. He couldn't say a word. He would be like, "you'll have to talk to Jack about that.".

Before the dotcom bust, we encountered dozens of absolutely insane small public companies. We found a company that made some technology products. In late 1999, all of its customers started paying late, and the tech company recognized that big problems were starting to hit the industry. You know what they did? They shorted all of their customers' stocks and made tens of millions of dollars. They took the money and opened a restaurant in NYC. Another company we were looking at was seeking coverage. We were on a conference call when the CEO said they needed coverage because one of the directors killed another director of the company. We encounter some strange stuff.

I used to make a lot more trading plays. As I have gotten older, my appetite for risk has gone way down.

A lot has been revealed in this thread, and not just about BF.

What is somewhat disappointing to me, however, are the number of posters who have brought up examples of how they were wronged by him outside the confines of this board. Why did it take a change in ownership to bring these things to light? What was the fear?

I did say that he never bought me a drink.

I won a t-shirt, asked for a Medium, and bigfan sent me an XXL because he didn't want to order any more mediums.

So he pretty much shit on my prize. I can't even recall the contest.

I won Donspiracy's football contest in 2014. Bigfan told Don that he didn't have any shirts to give me. A week or two later, bigfan made a post announcing that he needed to clear out the prize closet, including shirts.

Of course not. I just saw IMU post about the shirts, so I felt like telling my tale.

Shirts fit just fine.

I am convinced at this point that you just walk around in a stupor nowadays uttering this phrase. It's still great, though.

When I won a t shirt in dons contest it took forever to get my shirt. He kept telling me he was waiting for something or someone. I PMed him and asked about it one night and he responded and told me that it was a good thing i had asked nicely about the t shirt or I wouldn't be getting it. it finally did arrive and it was the wrong size. I never said anything else about it, figured I had pressed my luck enough. Not too long ago I found it at the bottom of a drawer and put it with some stuff to take to the local goodwill store.
