The board has a filter option of some sort wherein the mods can select a given word to reappear as whatever ... 'nut' for many racial slurs is a board tradition of a kind ... it doesn't hurt to have it I'd say, and I say pretty much anything as you well know so it's not like I'm some prude 'defending' it.

I give the writer credit for doing his best to use ignorance as an explanation. In a lot of cases it is ignorance....doesn't make it right, but a lot of people really have no clue...and that's sad.

I think the cop story could very well be true, but he's drawing conclusions that he really doesn't know about. For example, the report could have been that the perp was black and driving in a sports car. Having worked in Naperville for around fifteen years, I can tell you this rings very true. Worked with a couple of guys who were routinely pulled over for DWB. When I lived in Homewood, I bet it was 90% black drivers that were pulled over, even though the racial makeup was 56% white, 34% black. It was so common, my wife and I would point out when someone that was pulled over was white. Vastly different community than a Naperville/Wheaton area, but I don't doubt that racial profiling is alive and well with the police.

if anyone wants me to tell you examples of this i can provide them, but without discounting or demeaning anything dude said i'm just wondering if he thinks, example, white people/kids don't often get fucked with by police for a "courtesy roll" when they have a taillight out. when the taillight it out that's basically a message to the police that they can fuck with you if they want.... and obviously DWB in suburbia = greater chance of getting fucked with.... but with a few of these situations (not all of them, as obviously some of the stuff was 100% clear-cut racism) he mentioned you're not getting fucked with 100%-ONLY because you're black... but obviously being black in suburbia doesn't help your chances (esp when the cops have that mindset that they're "protecting" their suburb "for the good upstanding people here")

and btw #realtalk if i was in 4th grade and there were some kids like OMFG HEY LET'S GO TOUCH THE BLACK KID'S HAIR i'd find it so damn creepy and weird that i'd try my hardest to never associate with them agian.

One of my partners in a business I used to own was a great salesman. He was really well-versed in the history of sales and marketing, had read all the books and gone to all the seminars. This guy used all kinds of techniques. I don't believe anyone actually teaches this one but I saw him use it to great effect. This motherfucker would talk to a prospect using the prospect's accent and/or speech patterns. The first time I saw it I was on a sit with him and he began doing an imitation of an Indian. I was appalled, but the client seemed not to notice and the appointment went very well.

Another time we had finished a job out in Barrington and the customer owed us a bunch of money. The guy was ducking our phone calls. So one Friday we were sitting in the office and my partner asks me if I wanted to do a "bust-in". I asked him what that was. He said we just go to the guy's house without calling to collect the money. I was game for that so we drove over. The customer answered the door and looked surprised to see us. We kind of pushed our way inside the house and handed the guy the bill. The customer was Russian and he looked at the bill and said, "I pay later." My partner went into a full Russian accent and said, "No, Dusan, ve need you payment tonight." The fucking guy went and got his checkbook.

(sidenote:I don't know what's going on in this thread but I just read JORR's "intimidation" story so I had to come back with being on the reverse end of it.)


We had a flat roof put on our newly purchased home about 29 year ago. It was put on while I was at work. I come home and head for the rec room where my wife sat with our in-laws while she fed our new born son. I happen to look up at the ceiling which had a beautiful natural wood on it. There were hundred of holes with nails through them. The dumb fucks put the roof on and nailed it to my ceiling.

I got on the phone and the guy said to me "Don't talk to me like a piece of shit,or I'm coming over there." I told him: "Fine,C'mon over." (I didn't have a Russian accent)

Well cooler heads prevailed,we both had the same insurance and we had it taken care of.

I was surprised to read that he found it implausible to find gang activity in south Naperville. It borders Bolingbrook. There is plenty of gang activity in that area.
