You can still talk to Jimmy Pasta through this message board.

I wouldn't trade Schwarber straight up for a Chapman rental.

I would consider a deal for Andrew Miller. The Yankees value Schwarber highly, as they should. He would be their DH and that porch would be extremely attractive to him.

i'm with you. i'd rather have chapman now but it would have to be a package deal of sorts. but i'd go straight up for miller.

They would freak, but if they won, people would no longer care. But man, having his bat in next season's lineup would be something.

Z
Schwarber
Bryant
Rizzo
Contreras
Heyward
Russell
Almora
P

With Baez super sub. Other than Heyward, that's a fine looking lineup.

I work with a guy who said "It's like there's a hole in the season without Schwarber". I said "Yea it seems like they're really struggling without him".

They would be dumb not to trade Schwarber this year. They can win it all this year and you can't keep a DH on your team because he hit a cool home run the year before that you put in plexiglass.

His value only goes down this year especially if he isn't as good after his knee injury.

Theo should have learned with Castro that you don't wait to trade a guy that doesn't fit with your team.

I wouldn't trade him for both. The kid is going to be a stud for the next 10 to 15 years.

Not for Schwarber. Cubs giving too much away for a rental and a bullpen arm.

It isn't whether the Cubs would move him or not.

It is if the proposed deal outlined is outlandish or not.

It is not outlandish.

Schwarber for any relief pitching is ridiculous. End of story.

I never would trade a player with Schwarbers upside for a relief pitcher. Especially when the kid has 86 days of MLB service time. Not today not ever.

Agreed. I would take a Chris Sale though.

And you wouldn't have traded Corey Patterson for Trevor Hoffman.

The Cubs are trying to win a World Series. The Cubs are a .609 team without him this season. He does not play a position of need for the Cubs. In fact, you can argue he doesn't play a position that exists in the National League.

Kyle Schwarber should not be untouchable. He should be a very valuable piece that could be moved in a trade where the Cubs receive equal value back...in positions that are more important for the near future. Back end of the bullpen is one of those needs.

Schwarber could be their Big Papi. They should give the Cubs two of their titles for him.
