man when i found out that syndergaard was starting tonight i managed to stubhub a nice face-value seat in section 411 so i represented tonight; what a beautiful night for baseball! especially on the LF side of things, the whole 400 level was in the shade so you had comfortable breezes airing you out the whole time (coming down off of a ~90 degree hot-n-humid day) and it became an idyllic fool-moon night so yeah, i managed to do really really good on this one.

special shoutout going to the portly chick in front of me who was spending the first few innings crowing about how much she knows about baseball "unlike all these other bitches" --- who ended up calling me a "bitch" for not cheering the cubs demonstrably enough (i wasn't cheering against them, i wasn't rocking any sort of baseball gear whatsoever, i guess i just wasn't jumping up and high fiving everyone when pro-cubs things happened?) --- and then spent the final 3+ innings of the game being stupid/wasted-drunk and not paying attention to anything, yet STILL feeling the need to turn around and stare me down when i didnt jump up and join in group high fives on a close play at first that went the cubs way. whenever i go to night games i'm always reminded why i never really could do "the cub thing" when i got into baseball proper horrorshow.

also, a belated HOLY FUCKING SHIT WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK ARE YOU DOING RENE RIVERA!?!?!?
