When someone visits your home, or if you visit someones home do you expect shoes to be taken off when staying indoors?

Personally, I don't really care either way but I much prefer to take them off as it is so much more comfortable. I'm not going to kick someone out for wearing shoes in the house but I don't understand why you would want to. It would be like still wearing your jacket.

So, can we get a 100% consensus here after coming up with both sides of the debate and then all coming to an agreement?

I don't really care about shoes in the house as long as they are clean. If it's the winter and there is snow/slush on the ground, you better take that shit off though.

Shoes off. If you wear shoes in your home you better not have any carpet otherwise it's basically a garbage dumpster sewer cespool on your floor. I prefer to be able to walk barefoot in my home without stepping on the same floor as shoes that have been in wrigley bathrooms, street festival grounds, or subway cars...

My wife's rule is shoes off. Personally, I wouldn't care unless they were going into the carpeted rooms.
