Iowa beats #6 Michigan State in a grinder game. Even though this team is not very good, at least they got one highlight this year and something to build on for the future.

It's way more than I would have expected this season. Did you watch the game at all? Looked like a snoozer...

I did watch it. I was flipping back and forth between that and the Pats/Jags. It was good if you liked grind it out type basketball. A couple of thoughts:

1. Iowa stretched out every possession to 25-30 seconds.
2. Tony Freeman played lights out on both ends of the floor, leading all scorers and keeping Drew Neitzel down most of the night.
3. The crowd was in to it, especially in the second half. With every defensive stop, they got a standing O.
4. Cyrus Tate stepped up big scoring 9 and getting 7 boards. Gorney and Looby played well on the defensive end.
5. MSU only got a few good looks the last 30 minutes.
