I hate the pullover type jerseys in baseball. I know they have made a comeback at the high school level.

I wouldnt want them to be the regular jersey any longer, but I like the look for a game here and there.

My goodness, that was a $184-million throw if ever I saw one. Came out of Jason Heyward's hand at 98.8 mph, per Statcast.

I am sick of people justifying Heyward's contract based on defense. You would never pay that kind of money for a .240 hitter who cannot hit home runs no matter how good he plays defense.

I appreciate his strong arm. I don't appreciate his plate appearances.

I am pretty sure that tweet was sarcasm.

He's not saying anything about his hitting. You're the one bitching about it.

And I am going to bitch about it at every opportunity I get. When they flashed that poll earlier this year that 73% of Cubs fans felt Heyward's contract was justified based solely on his defense, I damn near puked.

Why is Montero still on this 25 man roster? All he does is leave runners on base and make outs. Barring injury he sure as shit better be the one gone off this roster when Fowler comes back. Contreras does not need to be in LF...he needs to be catching. Just put dead ass bat on the DL and let him coach pitch framing or whatever the fuck he is supposed to be good at doing.

I think the pitching staff like Montero quite a bit. When the Cubs hit that skid, he was out and Contreras was behind the plate. I assume the Cubs keep him or DL him when Fowler comes back. Then keep him on as the veteran back up next season.

Cubs don't need a lineup full of power and hitters, they can deal with Montero sucking. It's Heyward's bat that is really the painful one.

I think the tweat was drawing comparison's between Heyward's arm (and salary) and that of a TOR pitcher with a hint of sarcasm.

Damn you're right. I totally missed it. The Tweet said that one throw was worth $184M.

That is entirely possible. I don't care if a catcher doesn't hit for a high average or power but you can't strand 5+ runners every night.

Do you really want to entrust a pitching staff to a rookie every game down the stretch?

Hendricks might pick up a few down ballot Cy votes if he keeps this up.

Someone would have said that about Jake Arrieta on July 20th, 2015.

Though July 20th, 2016... Arrieta had a 2.52 ERA, .581 OPS against, 2.307 WPA, 4.78 K/BB, and a 0.983 WHIP

Hendricks isn't far off that. Better ERA, in fact.

The narrative concerning Heyward is very odd. He has sucked and a lot of people don't want to say it. To this point, it looks like a bad signing.

Only way it'll ever be a justified signing is if the Cub win the Series.

He could improve, too, at some point. If he could at least get back to his career averages, I think everyone could at least be happy with that. Right now he just sucks. He's getting a pass now because everyone else is playing so well and the record is good. Otherwise, he would be getting the Soriano treatment.

Is it really breaking bad when I'm stating the obvious? He has sucked.
