I’m still a bit dazed by how badly that Cruz speech played out, at least from Trump’s perspective. My initial instinct was that Cruz played it too cute, but obviously the other possibility is that Cruz knew exactly what he was doing and wanted to shiv Trump.

Newt has certainly said some dumb things and believes some dumb things, but I've always admired his ability to make a forceful argument (even a stupid one). He and Clinton were ample adversaries.

what for? Every reliable predictive model (Fair from Yale, the guy from Emory, etc, et al, yadda, yadda, yadda) has the Repugs winning in November--regardless of whom the nominee is. The models are "nominee agnostic".
