I switched back to PBS's coverage. Charlie Rose hosting a panel of traditional media types, bemoaning their declining role as gatekeepers for political careers. They too seem resigned to President Trump. They did note that the debates with Hillary will likely take on a heightened importance; and that there's plenty of [social media] rope for Donny T to hang himself btw now and the first Tuesday in November.

Weren't the debates what made Trump during the primary? And if he hasn't shot himself in the foot enough already on social media to sabotage his campaign, hard to see what he could do or say going forward that will scuttle his now seemingly inevitable march to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Whatever you think about Gingrich and his politics, and I'm not a fan, he seemed like a voice of reason in this shitshow. I think it is hilarious that Trump supporters were chanting "Goldman Sachs" at the person who is cast to be the wife of Ted Cruz because she works for Goldman Sachs.
