Yesterday was my big 34th. Took the day off to take little rsg to the Navy Pier Children's Museum. He loved it. Can't wait to take him back when he's older. Stopped by Piece afterward for lunch. Their large is massive. Feeds 3-5, my ass. I ran by Half Acre on the way back home, since I wanted to get my growler filled with delicious Tuna. They're closed on Mondays :(

It almost seems like this should have gone in the "Complain about" thread.

You better thank the moderators for putting money in your pocket.

Wait, is that a shot at me?

I am happy to see you back posting after a long weekend of consulting the Turkish military

I just began publishing a fishing podcast for the American Sportfishing Association called "WeFishASA."
Four shows are available and the guests include Babe Winkelman, Kevin VanDam and Mike Iaconelli.
They are available at www.wefishasa.com
Please feel free to let me know what you think.
Thanks

Nice.

Man, Babe Winkelman, that's a blast from the past. Does he still do a show?

He'll be my first guest right after the White Sox win their next World Series.

No doubt, great blast from the past. If you would have asked me who the most famous fisherman I knew was
before this came up that would have been the first name out of my mouth. No idea if he still does a show, I kinda
doubt it. I think he is about 70 years old.

He still does and he is 68, I believe.
Hell of a fisherman and a good friend.
He is an enterprise unto himself and had 35 full-time employees at one time.
Amazing!

Hey Sarley: I have two boys under the age of 6 who want to go fishing, but I don't know the first thing about it. What's the best way to get them started?

And what kind of transportation do you take to work?

Will I ever get the answer to that riddle?

Wow. A veritable Mount Rushmore/Who's Who of guys besides Babe I've never heard of.

I remember Brandmeier literally getting hooked by Babe years ago.

Here's another clue that any Kenilworthian should appreciate: In Rogers Park, why isn't North Shore really the North Shore?

Actually, Brandmeier hooked Babe if I remember correctly.

Ed, I found your Mount Rushmore comment to be interesting.
VanDam and Iaconelli are probably the two biggest names in Bassmaster tournament fishing right now.
Iaconelli has even been on the cover of ESPN - The Magazine.
That said, I'd be interested in finding out if there are names in the fishing world that are recognizable to people who aren't as familiar with the sport as much as a die-hard aficionado would be.
I've interviewed a lot of athletes, politicians and other more mainstream names who are passionate about the sport in the past and would like to continue doing that as well as hosting people famous strictly for fishing.
