I'll do my part.
We can vote for Gary Johnson together with Scorehead.

Yes.
I'm going to guess that it goes something like this:
Elizabeth Warren is great.
Bill Clinton is great.
Bernie Sanders brought up some good points and had a good message.
Hillary united the party and looks to be the one who is going to win.

Spot on Brick.

When Clinton wins it looks like we are going to spend ANOTHER 4-8 years of republicans wasting time trying to kick a Clinton out of office instead of focusing on good legislation to win over voters. They will then decry gridlock.

I hope the Republicans change tactics after they get beaten like a drum in November. I think they can make deals with Hillary. They need to figure out if they really want Free Trade, meaning approval of TPP. They also need to reform the corporate tax code, which would bring a lot of corporate cash back home and solve the inversion issue. Possible immigration reform?

I think Clinton has enough business sense (read lover of Wall Street) that there will be deals to be had.

I know a lot of folks hate free trade. But the TPP allows for the U.S. to set the global rules on trade before the Chinese do it. It would empower a lot of our allies in Southeast Asia at a time when China is expanding its influence over the South China Sea.

Who knows what happens between now and November. Trump could still win. Hilary apathy, a recession and a few more terrorist attacks could swing this.

I always get amused at the focus groups they show. So from one speech you are able to go from a Bernie Bro to being solidly on the Trump Train?

That just seems odd to me.

c'mon.

really.

c'mon.

Trump could perform miracles, reincarnate Reagan and he'd still lose. Deep down inside, he's an unlikeable guy and he's a democrat at heart to boot. It's over. It's all over. The eggs are coolin', the butters getting hard and the jello is jiggling.

It's certainly an open contest, and I can't believe how close the polls are. Since the Brexit surprise, I guess anything is possible with the anti-establishment backlash.

But I have to think Clinton will win handily in the Electoral College, the Dems will wipe out the Republican Senate majority, and I even see a small chance that the House flips. But that would require strong Dem turnout against Trump with apathetic Republicans staying home. The only way for the Republicans to stem that bleed is to hope for lots of ticket splitting with Clinton voters willing to pick a Republican down ticket. I just don't see it.

For my part, I will vote for Johnson, and then all Republican on the rest of the ticket- Kirk, Roskam, etc, etc.

While I still think Hillary will win in Nov, I am not sure how anyone could be this certain. People were also this certain that Trump would get destroyed in the GOP primaries.

I can't speak for all Sanders supporters, most I know are writing in Bernie or voting Jill Stein..most of us could never punch Hillary's ticket.

I'm guessing it will mostly be a coronation especially since Bernie is now firmly on the Hillary train.

I meant the coverage in this thread. But yeah you are right.

I did not watch a minute of this nor did I watch the debates. And I am the target audience! It just still seems as odd to me as when I said it when the primary debates started why bother watching if your are a democrat voter? Nothing they say is changing your mind really and to spend time analyzing every bit of a convention that will not either seems weird.

Well a lot of what Donald Trump said last night should appeal to a Democratic party voter.

She's been saying that for 2 years, I agree with her..the dems losing could be the best thing to happen to the Democratic party in decades..it would force them to move left or create s real 3rd party.

Indeed. If you didn't know better, much of his rhetoric would appeal to Dems. But his plans are obviously lacking as noted by ......wait for it......MANY.

You are grossly underestimating working-class resentment for bad free trade agreements.

Much of his speech also appealed to white supremacists.

see, I wasn't. I thought Trump could win and it was because the rest of the candidates had no concept of grabbing the spotlight and throttling it.

That won't work with the general election. Most voters minds are already made up, despite whatever polls say. The history has already been written.

He's going to win the Confederacy minus Florida for certain, and several of the western conservative states. I think his message plays well in Rust Belt states like Missouri, Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania. People vote for crazy stupid things all of the time.

I don't think Hilary will get the number of young votes Obama did. So you, can't dismiss out of hand that Trump could win.

The Rust belt is the battleground. He may rework the electoral map by putting Midwest states in play. But I still view it as unlikely. Plus he has abandoned long held Republican views on Free Trade.

I don't think it is likely, but his losing is not a certainty. Especially, if people convince themselves that it is.
