Could care less if he's a bad guy. Just win ball games. As I've said for the millionth time now, a lot of jocks are assholes and treat women like shit. If you have such a moral dilemma about it then don't watch sports. Sports radio/talk fucking blows now.

Total agreement. I would assume the police would error on the side of the woman on that call. Police said no signs of abuse to her. From what I could see in the photos nothing happened(except a nice boobjob). Conflicting stories from everyone at the party. He admitted to losing it and shot up his garage with his legally registered gun.

Chapman is a pretty large dude, if he laid hands on her, its going to show up in a photo 2 hours later.

This is a fucking joke right?

Did they check for emotional or psychological signs of abuse? Because he only fired the gun in the garage!! Nothing intimidating about that.

Cub fans who destroy others for their mistakes now want to pretend that it's different when the chance to win the World Series is on the line.

Are you saying that someone who may have psychologically abused someone does not deserve to earn a living?

Nowhere in that post is that suggested.

From a guy that mocked me for hiring ex-cons.

"Go Cubs GO
"Go CUBS Go"
"Hey Chicago what do you say,
domestic violence is ok if we win a World Series this way"

So stupid.

I'm using the fact he wasn't arrested as justification there was no threat of violence toward her and she was not in danger when he was shooting the gun. I'm not saying he is a good guy, but whats the alternative, he can't play baseball ever again? He lost it and vented his frustration in the garage. The police on seen saw it the same way and said he didn't pose a threat to her.

Buy me a couple drinks, and I will let it slide.

Its new and you can thank social media and the SJW's for it.

The unrealistic standard isn't new at all. It's just been shifted over time. We've always thought athletes should give up more money and better opportunity and show "loyalty" and prioritize winning over all other virtues. We've always held them to unrealistic standards. Now it seems like more of the public than ever before has accepted the fact that taking more money doesn't make an athlete a bad guy, so we shifted our unrealistic standard to having them never be able to commit a crime without shaming them for it.

This fake liberal outrage is a bad sports thought. This idea of everyone should be up in arms because a player did something wrong is misguided. Ray Lewis was either a murderer or an accomplice to murder. They didn't stop Ravens fans from enjoying his on-field performance. Bill Clinton committed adultery in the Oval Office and was accused, but never convicted of rape or attempted rape and that didn't stop him from having 8 years in the White House.

I have no idea what your point is. Darren Sharper was a terrible human being, but that didn't stop him from having a hell of a career!

Mentioning good character as an attribute you seek in your employees should never be frowned upon.

A person should always seek to associate themselves with good people.

Even if limited supply has resulted in you having to employ a "bad person" does not mean you should stop seeking good character people

Most gun owners have wild uncontrollable tempers. Thankfully he didn't kill anyone.

If he helps the Cubs win a WS I'll feel bad about it for like 5 seconds after many months of celebration

The point is that high profile people get away with stuff if they are good at their jobs. Telling people that they can't enjoy their team because the guy they signed is not a good guy is sucking the fun out of being a sports fan.

Seems like a reasonable thought based on decades of data and thousands of cases.

There's like 100 million gun owners in the country. Whatever the number is, please show the data that would suggest that over 50% of them have uncontrollable tempers. It's a ridiculous thing to say even with allowing for hyperbole. The vast majority of gun owners are normal people with normal self control.

Wanting to own a gun signifies to me that they are planning on needing to do something wild in the future.

I can count using a quad amputee's fingers and toes how many times I thought "I could really use a gun in this likely situation. That would help this likely situation immensely."

It's simple. If you can get talent that is also has great character, that's ideal. If you can't, talent wins out. This is indisputable. I doubt any fan base would be happy if their team's roster was filled with perfect citizens with no athleticism (i.e. Bernie "King Jew" Sanders)

Well, now you're just talking about feelings. I thought you wanted to use data and thousands of cases to prove the statement was reasonable. But either way I would disagree with that. You've been to the Darkside Estates. If you felt uncomfortable there that is probably a you problem, not a gun problem.

Thousands of stories involving guns being a part of the problem.

Maybe three stories where the result was "this gun / these guns wielded by this very rational man sure saved our bacon!"

Thousands of cases out of 100+ million gun owners certainly supports my claim, not Bryan's.
