You got what you got out of Triple A Pete and you weren't satisfied. You had to push it.

Baez and Heyward combined production is about where many would have thought

baez is really quietly having a nice lil season here. he's taken advantage of the multiple injuries to become an almost-everyday-player in which i wanna say he's .280-290something with 11HR and ~35RBI? not bad for a guy who i figure can't have more than 300AB (aka the proverbial 1/2-season for everyday starters)

i still think baez' cromulence alongside the hot start from wacky willy contreras = i'd trade schwarber for andrew miller, but only because i'm the cubs and i've got depth and i can shrug off #24 rated prospect shortstops like "yeah we've got addy russell.... and javvy baez. and ben zobrist. we're good" --- if i were the yankees i'd be all over miller for schwarber right now.

I don't know why they didn't bat for him in the seventh. Did they think he was gonna hit another dinger?

have you ever thought about un-retiring from music and writing an angsty post/punk-rock-song about/for robin ventura? i can see "YOU HAD TO PUSH IT!" being repeated as a chorus/bridge/whatever as you spend ~2-4 minutes professing your love for YOUR GUY(TM) robin ventura.

I don't get it. I was shocked to see him hitting. And then he ran out of gas the next inning....

Allowing your prized rookie to get lit up when he clearly can't spot anything.

Great idea.

welp go figure sox' center fielder (??!) J.B. Schmuck just lived up to the name. as the stone pony just pointed out when you first play the OF in wrigley you find out that it's a brick wall behind that [iconic] ivy!

anyways, in regards to bragging rights i look forward to this win effectively giving the cubs a 4-2 series advantage in the coveted BP Crosstown Cup(TM)

Just a bummer that the Cubs are going to score too many runs that we are going to miss the pleasure of watching Chapman smoke 3 fools on 105 mph heat.

Jesus get this guy out of here. He can't hit shit. I thought that was a purpose pitch to Bryant but obviously it wasn't.

Who does Chapman drill in the ribs in his Cub's debut?

Hey Bud--we got us TWO prized rookies on this team!

God help us....

I haven't focused on Rizzo (I was always paying attention to Bryant) when watching the Cubs this year, but I can see why people talk about him as the MVP.

Wow, when Heyward gets a hit off you that's a sign baseball may not be the right career choice.
