hey buddy, just FYI the crosstown cup ain't going anywhere since it stays with the previous holder in the case of a tie. last i checked the sox already won 2/4 games (including an arrieta start, which means that arrieta is something like 1-5 in his last 9 starts or something) so uhhh even if the cubs win 23-2 tomorrow THE CROSSTOWN CUP AIN'T GOING NOWHERE BUDDY!

so can we all have a moment of silent celebration for your winners/retainers/not-losers of the 2016 BP Crosstown Cup(TM): YOUR CHICAGO WHITE SOX!

ALSO, 2005.

I don't give a shit about the cup, this is about saving face and not losing 3 of 4 to a garbage team that 85% of my friends pull for..a split is HUGE!

Are you really going to talk about RBI after pissing on W/L record?

Saving face is a huge drop from "BRING ON THE PRETENDERS"

The Sox 'pen is a dumpster fire.

This is a best case scenario for Sox fans. Already holding the hardware and now they can lose so they can start the sell off to build for the future.

Sox fans...are you hoping they lose a few straight to make sure Kenny and Hahn don't repeat last year's mistake?

Shields' value is high right now. Might be able to flip Robertston and a couple others as well. Even if you don't move Abreu Sale Quintana.

Sure it seems that is the right thing to do. The math tells you that. The fan in you though should really never root for losing. Except Theo fans, of course.

obv its hindsight but i have to agree Robin left him out there too long...it was one of the batters just before and he either missed his spot or didn't get the call, and you could tell he was really frustrated....i would have yanked him right there, you could tell something bad was coming

Why the fuck didn't he bat for him in the seventh? Hadn't he done enough? I guess his two at-bats were as good as anyone had had all night, but come on, how much did you think you could get from the guy?

NL has a major advantage in interleague play.

I think the Sox are poised for a run. After trading for Shields earlier you guys should double down on someone young with alot of upside. I bet Prince Fielder is available.

Anything else is trivial.

Take all the shots you want...but the Cubs organization made the best decisions with that goal in mind.

Perhaps they realize just how bad the pen is and were hoping to not have to go to it until the 8th at least?

Well, it has been used hard lately and I'm sure that played into the decision. Still, you got a gift with AAA Pete pitching his balls off through six and giving you a lead with a homer. Keeping him in there is what I would describe as "pushing your luck".

No doubt. But sometimes you gotta press your luck. I just think of all the things to get upset with Robin about, this is not a big deal. If the bullpen was in better shape then absolutely it was a horrible call.

I called it in the third, that Robin would leave that kid in too long..I think Cooper told him to not give Baez anything to hit and that they were going to take their chances with Duke on Lastella...he didn't really give Baez any good pitches...that last curve ball looked low at the bottom of the zone..Baez just crushed it...robin tried to blow game 1 by using albers instead of Robertson.. He's a fuckin meathead.

I'm not equivocating. I'm the guy that has said this rebuild wouldn't necessarily be a failure even if it results in no World Series. Remember my points system three or so years ago?

Lackey needs to mow these bums down tonight, no excuses. These guys can't hit..7ip 2 runs or less ...I think the right handed heavy lineup can scratch across 4 runs tonight.
