I was able to check this out last weekend on HBO GO. Everything I have read has claimed this will be a solid series. I enjoyed the opening
episode. Essentially we have a college aged kid that borrows his dad's cab to get to a party. He gets lost and ends up picking up a very
attractive young woman. One thing leads to another and they end up back at her place. After some drinking and drugs they end up having
sex. When the guy wakes up he finds the woman has been brutally killed. He leaves the scene and is quickly apprehended. He claims
he didn't do it but the evidence against him is staggering. Before the end of the episode he is approached by John Turturro who plays a
creepy and slimy lawyer. I thought it was a great pilot and I look forward to seeing how the case unfolds. I would recommend it so far.

Agreed.

Very good 1st episode.

The kid made basically every bad choice possible and it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

James Gandolfini is/was an executive producer and was supposed to play the role that John Turturro has.

Agreed. Well acted, beautifully shot and I very much like the moves it's making.

Will watch more.

I enjoyed it but it was infuriating to see all the evidence that kid was throwing around and the stupid trust in the detective. I mean, I get the kid is naive and in shock so I can believe a person would do it but it was just hard to watch.

Now that Turturro is in there, I think it will pick up some.

You can already start to see the problems the prosecution will have on chain of evidence with the knife. Also, those lineup cards are bullshit. He was sitting in the same waiting room with both people that ID'd him after the fact. That will get thrown out.

I assume the guy driving the hearse telling her she's next is involved. Always good to see Bodie. He's not listed in the IMDB so it threw me at first but that's him.

Apparently, a quick look of Bodie's Twitter page reveals a Game of Thrones fanatic -

Loved the first episode. The way it's shot is really well done. Bodie's friend that stared back at Naz seems like he's involved.

Glad they remade this instead of bring over the original British show whole-hog. Interesting choice to
cast a male in the role of the main perp's lawyer, who was a chick in the original--

[spoiler alert]

and don't they have an affair in the original? Hot Turturro prison sex scenes coming up.

Yep.

Bodie made no mention of him to Box.

Solid episode 3.

Omar is taking a liking to Naz. Which is good for Naz since everyone else wants to make a Nazkabob.

Interesting about the cop at the impound lot giving John's card to the guys who co-own the cab. Especially in light of John being replaced by "fancy big city lawyer".

I haven't seen the third episode yet, but the first two are really good. Every review I have read of the show agrees it is a very good show, except the following review. It was written by the film critic version of Julie DiCaro. Peeps, you're part of the problem if you enjoy this show.

That was the worst thing I've read today.

Thanks FF.

So somehow the cat is involved right? Probably not until the exoneration. But the rule of thumb in any mystery is that they don't show things for no reason. Cat keeps coming up.

I made the mistake of reading about the BBC version and how it ended. Ever since, I've been on the lookout for clues in the this one. There was a fleeting image of something from the BBC ending last night. Very interesting.

Yes the two darkest skin guys (hease driver and Bodie's new Poot) are likeliest murderers. Racist.

I'm thru 2 episodes

Thought last night's episode was really good. I wasn't quite sure on the ending and that guy's motivation for attacking Naz. I guess he just was crazy as hell(evidenced by the photo he carries around) and Naz set him off by insisting he didn't do it. But that didn't seem like a very severe attack, all things considered. If he actually wanted to severely hurt Naz, there has to have been a better opportunity.

The feet shit is gross. I don't know what purpose it serves. There are easier ways to humanize a guy. One angle I read that I liked was that it could come into play by allowing Stone to smuggle shit in for Naz/Freddie, since the guards stopped checking him.

Ok watched episode one. Decent. I got the feeling these guys got their idea for the show from the Serial podcast.

I've heard MANY people say that we will obviously find out by the end if he actually killed her or not. I'm pretty unconvinced about that. Halfway through, it seems like never finding out for sure would be more effective.

The 1st episode was good but primarily just setting up the plot. It's really the 2nd episode that draws you in.

Through the first three episodes. I am a little disappointed in that they are focusing more on the individual personalities and not much about the actual case. I like all the characters and much of the dialogue. However, I want them to get into the case....
