He signed a 1-day deal with NY and is retiring as a Knick.

They should have brought in Chris Sale and cut up his jersey during his retirement press conference.

Quote:
"I want to thank Mr. Dolan, Phil [Jackson] and Steve [Mills] for signing me so that I can officially retire as a New York Knick," Stoudemire said.

"I came to New York in 2010 to help revitalize this franchise, and we did just that.

You signed a max deal with 2 bum knees, and sucked your entire time there. When Amare asked to retire as a Knick, he should have been laughed out of the room. Go punch another fire extinguisher, Amare!

I wonder why do players do this one day retirement thing? They are not changing anything historically or stats etc. What is the point besides possibly a photo or something?

   Wow because he had such a storied run with the Knicks. That is some hilarious shit. That would be like Bryan Cox coming back to sign a one day deal to retire as a Bear. Still I can't believe he made it this long in the league I figured with his knees he would have been done 5 years ago, but he kept getting them checks.

Show of good faith to the fans and to grease the wheels for a job as an ambassador gig sitting court side and getting paid to shoot the shit like Scottie. Although if they put Amare in charge of that job he would probably just fall down the steps to the front row and end up suing Dolan and getting another 80M from the NYK

Playing with Carmelo has ruined a lot of careers.

he still grabs his shorts to help himself up.

Amare retiring as a Knick is ridiculous.

Man as a Sun he had such a good run, but when he went bad, he went bad fast.

This ruins GarPax's plan to reunite all stars from 2005-2007.
