some ppl think that goff doesn't respect bernstein? lol... i was speculating that when goff got re-hired that bernstein's kids were gonna get $100/each in their birthday + christmas/hannukah cards every year from "uncle jason." somebody in another thread suggested that goff's forthcoming kid be named Daniel Bernstein Goff; that's the kind of mentality i'm rolling with here.

call it a hunch that whatever goffralopithicus might resent about bernstein is buried beneath 5-10 different layers of THANK YOU DAN I LOVE YOU SIR cuz seriously, goff went from a producer gig in chicago down to hosting nights in hottlanta, pretty much failed (miserably?) at his gig, got fired from that job and ended up getting promoted to a proper mid-day host in a much bigger market. methinks you don't resent a guy who likely helped grease the skids (even more?) to get you back home so you can continue failing upwards in the world of sports talk radio.

btw, as CH pointed out i'm sure dan was prolly thinking ahead to life after terry and realized having a potential cohost that he personally groomed/raised would be a pretty nice situation... and then hey whaddya know the guy happens to tick off a few boxes in terms of "diversity" and "progressiveness" areas; just like adding JDC in as some sort of tweener between "Talky producer" (a la vintage goff/drinky) and "3rd host" would also help to make the world a better place, or well if not the world at least the immediate area surrounding sarah spain's office on her own floor @ whatever ESPN office/s that possibly have a nickname of "Ground Zero" =]

Goff adores Bernstein. Loves and admires him. He took his radio act as evidence. Only difference is Bernstein speaks proper English and Goff talks slang. But the slang is recent for Goff. It's weird. I think Goff only does that for street cred, though. He never talked like that when he was Bernstein's producer cuz he knew Bernstein would disapprove of that type of talk.

I didn't say Jason doesn't like Dan, doesn't appreciate that essentially Dan and Terry are his radio parents.

However, when he was on that show he consistently got on the mic to mock Dan, and offered opinions that differed from moderate to severely different from Dan. That's part of why people loved him. He doesn't give Dan a wide berth.

He's largely continued that practice with Speigs. Doesn't like Dan's pro-management positions and has routinely called him on it. Hey, I'm no whisperer. If he was paired with Dan he wouldn't be a Terry. As much as I love Terry, can't stand the parroting.
