The upper deck of the Oakland Coliseum has been closed for years now. It hasn't always been tarped over, but they haven't sold upper-deck tickets on a regular basis in at least ten years. It's a shame about the old San Francisco White Sox. I always liked them.

EDIT: Most of Mt. Davis is closed off for A's games as well. What a boondoggle that thing turned out to be.

What the hell is a "boondoggle"?

You know, that old WWF tagteam ... Boondoggle Rex and Boondoggle Spot.

One of which was originally in Demolition.

I wonder how the stadium situation is going to resolve itself in Oakland. Neither league wants to lose a Bay Area franchise with all the money there. Once the Warriors move to San Francisco, that frees up the Oracle footprint to build a new ~36,000-seat park for the A's. A new Raiders stadium would have to go where the current Coliseum is now, but that necessitates moving the Raiders out and into Cal in the meantime IF THEY'LL EVEN HAVE THEM.

The most creative solution would be to do five home games at Cal, two in Los Angeles as a conciliatory gesture from the Rams and NFL for not letting them move there full-time, and one in London or Mexico or China or wherever else the fuck Goodell thinks he can get people to like dudes running into each other like mating elk. Two years of this while building an, oh, 50,000-seat concrete cube should be all it takes. This doesn't sound likely, but if you're following the developing clusterfuck with Las Vegas and the warring factions that'll prevent an NFL stadium from getting built there, it's more likely than that.

All financials aside, it just feels right to say Oakland A's & Oakland Raiders.

I hope both teams stay there forever.

"L.A. Raiders" had a nice ring to it, and you have to acknowledge what an impact they had, but they're back where they belong. Las Vegas or San Antonio would be horrible. And don't even get me started on the "St. Louis Raiders." Why don't I just set myself on fire.

The A's aren't going anywhere because there's nowhere to go. Notice that baseball has had both the fewest relocations and the fewest mid-sized metropolitan areas. 81 home games and 150+ telecasts is a big ask of a media market. Same reason the White Sox are never going anywhere.

What about Portland?

There's no baseball above Single-A in Oregon and I don't think there's much interest. Portland chased the AAA Beavers (just had them stuffed) out to convert their park into a soccer-specific stadium, which probably rubbed some baseball people the wrong way. I'm not sure Portland has the money to back an MLB team, and though I don't think it's close enough to Seattle for the Mariners to block them outright, the RSN situation of the Mariners either ceding Oregon or Portland allowing the Mariners into Oregon in exchange for carriage in Washington State doesn't seem like anything the M's would be enthusiastic about: essentially it'd be another Giants/A's split in a region with lower population density. As bad as things seem in Oakland, at least there's a high ceiling. Remember, Giants games at Candlestick were the same desolate, scumbag-ridden affairs that A's games are now.

Carl Edwards has to be on the playoff roster.

I wouldn't get rid of Baez in the offseason. He's really coming into his own this season.

I hope he's just as unhittable come October. His pitches are so basic, but opposing teams cannot hit him.

Can I get a ruling? Is this a Sox Fan approved Cubs win, or does this one not count? Thanks in advance.

The Stone Pony is pretty aggressive in these Akin Law commercials.

He's telling me to put Howard's number in my phone RIGHT NOW!

I like those also. Could be a Sunday afternoon at Wrigley type of uniform.
