If the police didn't shoot him and he killed a mother and her baby (like one of these guys did last year) some would be complaining about them NOT taking the kid out.

Well I just heard that he was shot in the back while running. Without video that changes my view of this. I thought he was shot in the car.

What is the race of the mother and baby? Asking for a friend.

Anyone else find it a little extreme the cop unloaded a clip at the back of the stolen car and bullets were flying in the direction of other police cars? Seems a tad bit reckless.

I don't get it,racing a stolen jaguar through a police barricade and nearly killing some cops standing in the street, driving up on sidewalks to avoid capture where innocents could have been run over. Armed or unarmed, shooting him should be justified. Just because you don't see a gun but due to the reckless behavior of the assailant with a 2000 lb vehicle,it's not beyond reason to assume he had a gun on his person.

Not in the back as he's running on foot. In the car? Sure. As he's exiting the car? Sure. Without video I can't say if the shooting was justified.

A 2000 lb Jaguar? Even a Fit weighs 2600+ lbs...

yeah, when i saw that video my first gut reaction was "damn, that was a summary execution"

this one? yeah obviously even with the whole GTA thing going on and police chases and all that you probably shouldn't get gunned the fuck down like this dude did.... but at the same time you can't help think "man if you wanna avoid being in situations like this don't go steal a fucking jaguar" and then once the cops reach the point of firing their guns odds are those first couple'a bullets are going to have a lot of friends behind them. i think there's a much bigger jump going from 0 bullets fired to 1 bullet fired than there is going from, say, 3 bullets fired to 15 bullets fired, you know? once a cop is willing to shoot you're pretty much fucked (especially if there's a whole bunch of other cops around to join in because panic/adrenaline is often socially contagious in situations like this) and realistically you know that the absolute "best and brightest" among us ain't gonna go be cops for a living if they can make more $$$ elsewhere, so you're really tempting fate when you cross that threshold to where a cop feels like they gotta shoot/at you. c'est la vie.

i haven't watched all of the videos yet, but still i'm thinking that no matter what this whole thing was exacerbated by stealing a damn car. if i went and nonviolently robbed a bank and was caught up with 20 grand in my possession would i be able to write it off like "man i was just joyspending?" prolly not.

and hey guys just know if you ever hear about me going out in some horrible way, just please let everyone know that i had goals... mmmk? </YesIKnowImAnAsshole>

Sinicaplypse, sound artist and aspiring asshole, died at Wrigley Field last night; after security opened fire on Mr Sini as he attempted to deprive the Cubs organization of concession sales by sneaking in his own.

As he's exiting the car? Yikes! People have some fucked up justifications for police abuse. If he's not a direct threat to anybody(meaning he's not actively a threat to harm somebody), it should be a criminal charge for any cop who shoots. You can't just fucking murder people who have committed crimes. God, this country makes me fucking sick with how they view this shit.

pfft, if you think that's "hard" just picture me 'blowing trees' in the bathrooms back when you could smoke in the concourses. i'd probably get smote by god all "i got this one guys" b4 the police could do the community proud by righteously ending me.

anyways yeah, back to the actual topic on hand.... i just noticed this little quote "O’Neal was shot in the back. He was unarmed at the time." ---- fuckin hell man.

yeah you know generally speaking dying of gunshots to the back = not a good look for the chicago PD here. idk if it was technically as much of a summary execution as laquan mcdonald, but upon discovering that the dude died from gunshots to the back? man.... JUST.... smh. DON'T STEAL CARS, KIDS!!!

AND IF YOU DO PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE GIG IS UP WHEN MULTIPLE POLICE OFFICERS ARE IN PURSUIT OF YOU. TRYING TO ESCAPE = YOU PISS THEM OFF = THEY ARE MORE LIKELY TO KILL YOUR DUMB ASS!!!! DON'T FUCK AROUND WITH PEOPLE WHO CAN KILL YOU!!!

Tennessee v. O'Neal tried to use the vehicle to harm a police officer at least once. In addition, anyone that might have been on those streets were in danger during O'Neal's attempted getaway.

The law is solid, and the cops followed the law.

You're a funny guy. The CPD released the videos in part because they acknowledged the officers involved DID NOT follow the law, and yet you still think they did. It reminds me of that scene from The Departed:

- There's no way he was a fuckin cop.
-THE COPS are saying he was a cop.

He was shot after he exited the vehicle and was fleeing.

Incorrect.

It was said they did not follow Chicago Police Department protocol. It said nothing of federal law.

I never mentioned federal law either and pro tip: police protocol is law.
