I think of a track like "Paris, Tokyo" from Lupe Fiasco when you mention this.

My 'NUA love has more to do w/ certain college professor of mine who used it to obscure the sounds of some after-class fun in her office.

That Lupe song reminds of me the song on Above The Rim. You know the scene where they are building the bball court and the dude is singing "The Ghetto's been good to me?"

SID if Kaplan was so popular why did he renew with WGN and not pursue a contract with one of the sports yackers for a daypart slot?? Also, if he was wildly popular in town he would be able to make bigger dollars with one of the sports stations. Evening show hosts do not make shit in town compared to dayparts. Why did he have a failed show on WMVP years ago (he was teamed with Jim Kozimor, they were called the K-Boys)?? Do your homework junior, now go fetch me a beer.

Bitch slapped by a whiny bitch like you? Ha.
Kaplan makes real good money for having no audience according to you.
As far as the past isn't that about the time Mac was out of work, Swirsky and Coopock on the air? Things chang. Your statement was meaningless as is everything you say.

Smooth jazz crushes sports talk in Chicago. You know what that means to advertisers looking for the young male demo? Absolutely nothing.

SID, let's drop the namecalling and get back to the facts like you wanted to do earlier.

The question is, are you making a fair or effective comparison between the shows?

Kaplan's solid, and he's done a good job adjusting to doing a show without Waddle. He's also:
-an industry veteran,
-with a longstanding reputation in town,
-surrounded by consistent programming,
-doing standard issue sports talk
-on a clearchannel station that you can hear in Ohio. (Trust me on that. I grew up deep in Reds country.)

Kaplan goes up against:
-play-by-play for teams working to regain a fan base (Bulls, Hawks; maybe even the Sox) and some college sports,
-younger guys who don't have the same name recognition,
-a lot of programming changes on competing stations,
-on channels you can barely pick up in half the city.

I'm not saying that Kaplan wouldn't do well up against B&B and MJH.

I'm not saying that B&B or MJH would do well in a later time slot.

I'm certainly not saying that Mac was 100% right.

Here's what I'm saying: if you think Mac was wrong and you think you've got the facts, then make your case.

And if you don't like namecalling, then don't do it.

SID's dad or uncle, apparently. Could this thread become "OG part 2"?

This thread is a bit more interesting than the salad talk going on my radio right now. Everyone knows you don't win friends with salad. "You don't win friends with salad, you don't with friends with salad..."

Hey STU-GOTZ

"Never heard of this douchebag. His listeners are either shitting the bed and wearing drool bibs and or are Cubs fans if he does his show on WGN. WHICH BY THE WAY ARE ONE IN THE SAME"

In defense of my Cub fandom, you can bite me! Gee...lets play that age old game of name calling. Off point from the ratings topic I know...but I had to defend the shot you took at Cubs fans.

peace

The picture of you celebrating the Sox victory is the reason I stay away from the South Side Frank. Put that picture up for the class and that will verify that you rode the short bus to school. :P

Its up in the picture section. If not; www.mypsace.com/coztansa

That was taken outside The Joan right after they won, and accompanied an artice on SI.com and msnbc.com about the Sox sweep. I was on about 90 minutes of sleep plus whatever naps i took on the 2 plane rides in, and between 4 of us we had almost polished off two 30 packs of special export. Yes sir, we classed it up that nite.

Ahhh yes..because all the people here with hundreds of posts with "stuff" like..."hey" & "oh yea"...all the other one or two word posts qualifies them in some inane way.

OK...I understand why "Cubs fans" can be easy targets but I feel I have to do my part to standup for us in general.

It's all good & I guess now I'm closer to 100 than zero posts.

later
