Agreed.

Trump's economic adviser team doesn't exactly represent "change". Didn't you once tout the greatness that was Linc Chafee at some point during this process?

 What "change" do you think Hillary Clinton represents? She is the queen of the status quo. Why do you think she has the support of the Koch Brothers and Boilermaker Rick?

And if you think for one minute that Lincoln Chafee wouldn't be a better president than either of these two scumbuckets, I don't know what to tell you. The fact that he couldn't even make a viable run shows you just how fucked our political system is.

If Trump really wanted Hillary to win, I don't think he would have been so crazy in the primaries. I mean his "strategy" worked to win the nomination, but he sure said a lot of things that should have disqualified him from contention. Now if he acted normal through the primaries, and then said lots of racist stuff, then I might buy that argument. But yeah, he'll be fine either way.

She will be able to work with Republicans. That is the biggest problem with Washington politics right now. Trump isn't a change agent. He is a guy that has gamed the system for better than forty years. Just because he isn't a politician doesn't mean that he isn't status quo.

I want a politician that will work with the other party to get legislation passed. For 16 years we haven't had that.

Lincoln Chafee bombed during that debate. Didn't need to see anything else after that.

There is no working with the opposition party in American politics today. To do so is seen as a sign of weakness by the unwashed masses.

I agree and that is why I don't want a tea party, bernie, neo con or left wing liberal in office. These mandate governing style officials have to go. That is the biggest problem in my opinion.

The Clintons have demonstrated that they will work with Republicans. They have walked the walk on that. Obama nor Bush had ever shown that they could that is why I didn't believe that they would.

I've been listening to old election night coverage (don't ask) and when I was going through the 2006 midterms, the thing that struck me the most out of everything was Chafee losing his Senate race in Rhode Island. I can't remember the exact number but the approval ratings had him at something bonkers like 60 or 70 percent and he still lost, mostly due to people being sick of anyone with an R next to their name at that point.

Also, didn't help that he didn't even bother running for reelection as Governor two years ago because of low polling numbers and poor fundraising. Hard to convince anyone you should be the executive in charge of the country when your own state doesn't think you're up to the job.

Meanwhile it seems that being an unpopular state governor is a pre-requisite to get the R VP nod...

But more laws equal less freedom. "Gridlock" isn't some evil thing. It's government working the way it's supposed to. It sounds like you would like Hillary Clinton to be your queen. Most of us wouldn't.

I agree. Change should be slow and deliberate!

To whom does most pertain? She looks like she is about to win and she amassed more votes than Obama in 08. Obviously she garnered far more votes than the nondescript Lincoln Chafee.

The person that doesn't run and theoretically can't win isn't always better than the person that does. They merely represent the safe choice so that people can bash the guy that wins.

If Republicans didn't want to see her win they should have nominated a better candidate.

Hillary is formidable and always has been.
