My wife got tired of me working from home, so i just started renting an office downtown.

When I last worked in a professional setting, women wore shoes. They do not in the office i am in.

Is this now customary?

It is customary with women and hippie IT guys.

Let me know when they take off their shirts. I will bring lunch.

They had to ban flip flops at my office downtown because women don't know whats appropriate for the office and flip flops are loud and annoying as fuck.

I want to say about 10 years ago they put some type of "no open toed shoes" language into the dress code but it has never ever been enforced.
I am personally not a fan of the open toed shoes while at work but I will say that 90%+ of the women at least have pedicures or something so
I guess I've just gotten used to it. I did see a woman last week wearing flip flops but that is really a first at my place of business.

I see a lot of women wear flip flops or gym shoes to work and change once there.

Hell I keep a pair of shoes at work and wear gym shoes in because I walk a mile to and from the train each day and I don't want to put wear and tear on my work shoes and they aren't super comfortable for walking distance. I see 0 problem if women wear flip flops to the office, but then put on grown up shoes while working.

I was always more bothered by the nasty hoody/sweaters that would come out every single day. These things would go months with out be washed.

I would do this all winter with boots to avoid trashing my shoes with road slush.

piling on OP, in my office building in Northbrook there are 3 women who are constantly in the hallway or outside the building talking on their cell phones. All the time. One of them spends her entire lunch on the phone every day.

WTF is up with that?

Nah, nah, nah, brother....women are nuts and the workplace gets funky with them in it. Especially when you have the mentally unstable one (in every office) that wants to be "one of the guys!!!!!!!"

Bad. Back to the kitchen or actually back to building bombers and tanks.

I wear flip flops 90% of the time to work. It's one of the great things about working in recreation.

I see it in the courthouse. Pisses me off to no end. Women attorneys just come casually walking in in sandals (not the good women attorneys though). Judges are afraid to say anything for fear of being labeled as sexist. Here us guys have to sweat our assess off in a full suit, socks, and dress shoes while the women wear skirts, sandals, and a loose blouse.

Women are equal to men in every way! But they cower behind special treatment and threats to be slobs and crazy.
