Yeah, clearly we all know the Simpsons was NEVER a children's show. I have not watched in several years, but those early years had huge strains of gold in nearly every episode. The rambling, off-topic start to the shows, the willingness to rip on Fox, GOLD, Jerry, GOLD!

Which is why even though I know The Simpsons were more important I think South Park has been better.

How widespread was the outrage over Bart Simpson t-shirts? I remember in 8th grade I had to wear my underachiever and proud of it man shirt inside out. That's nuns for you.

The Simpsons was great for about 12 years. Ever since they've become extremely mediocre & have profited off of it.

That being said, any criticism from a guy who thinks Schaumburg is the height of culture should be taken w/ a grain o' salt.

South Park tries too hard to be outrageous for the last several years. "How do we top that?" I like it overall but the Simpsons was way more clever during its prime.

"The Simpsons" benefited in its early seasons from having a ridiculous writing staff. a lot of that staff is gone and whatever has remained has burned out.

"South Park" has always been run by the same two guys who have amazingly stayed on top of pop culture and have made SP consistently timely. but, it has been a lot more dated than some of the most classic "Simpsons" episodes. while "Trapped in the Closet" and "World of Warcraft" episodes are some of my favorites...they only indicate one piece of time. Some of the best "Simpsons" episodes are timeless. "The Simpsons" was always more general social satire, whereas "South Park" has had specific targets.

Did she ever get a cameo on The Simpsons?..
